I'm paranoid about sweating and 'pit' stains.

    Is there a magic, wedding-approved, deodorant/antiperspirant?

    Thanks so much!!

Have you tried the stronger "clinical" strength brands? I would buy one asap and test it before the wedding to make sure you don't have any type of reaction.

Certain Dri...the clinical brands of Secret and other brands did nothing for me. I sweat through everything and Certain Dri has been a godsend. Put it on at night before you sleep, then regular deodorant/antiperspirant in the morning.

If you are really paranoid about this, you can get disposable underarm shields that you adhere to the underside of the garment

Certain Dri (AM and PM) work 'the best' for me... not 100% but WAYYY better than the Secret and Dove clinical protection stuff which do nothing for me. Certain Dri is also a lot less expensive =D

Certain Dri plus dress shields should keep you from pitting out...you can also carry a little thing of baby powder in your purse and dash into the bathroom to dab some under your arms if you feel yourself getting damp.

I didn't find the clinical strength stuff actually stopped sweating.  It reduced pit sweat, but just transfered all the armpit sweat to other areas of my body.  It is also not great for you to not sweat.

Get the armpit shields if you really want to avoid stains.

@julies1949:  these are amazing.   I discovered them when I was working in Japan, and keep some on hand for formal occasions.

I second the Certain Dri, I've heard really good things about it.

I really want to see a long sleeved BM dress...Do you have pics?

Driclor works well. But mind for the stinging/red marks you can get if used straight after shaving.

i use certain dri at night for anti-perspirant and one of theose mineral deodorants in the morning for odor control.

it works most of the time, but sometimes i do get very hot and sweat, espeically if i'm nervous.

none of those "clinical protection" antiperspirants from dove, secret, etc. did anything for me.

    hope this helps!

I also use Certain Dri, It says to only use it a few times a week, but when I first started I put it on everynight...once i got it under control i only have to use it a few times a week. that at night and a normal antipersperant in the morning work great for me!

I don't know if I'vethese the wedding yet but there are thing that literally look like sanitary pads for your underarms. Look awful but they stick to the armpits of ur dress and still elevate this problem (Fh will b wearing these on our wedding day as an extra precaution.

I'll go ahead and third/fourth and fifth Certain Dri.... that stuff is purely amazing. Although it did make my armpits itch a bit when I first applied it before bed. But the results are astounding and so worth the (short lived) itching.

@Mrs.tobe: I'd be very wary of Lady Mitchum - I used to swear by it but then noticed it was bleaching certain fabrics. It took a while to recognize what it was because it wasn't everything but enough to be super annoying. Sure enough I googled and it's a common problem with that brand :/

@maribonner: I don't know of any BUT I had this issue when I was in high school and it bugged me so much that my parents took me to a laser clinic and had my underarm hair permanently removed because my doctor said a lot of the times it's because too much oil is produced by your hair follice glands and the laser removed my hair folicles (killed them actually) so not only am I permanentley hair free but I haven't sweat under there in 5 years...I mean i sweat but VERY LITTLE and NEVER enough to show through clothes.

I use men's deoderant. I find it's the only thing that really stops me from having wet pits (gross I know... but the truth) when I wear t-shirts. Some of them have a really strong cologne smell, so you have to find one that's not so strong.  I've used men's gillette and it works pretty good, but Men's mitchum is my favorite. I like women's mitchum too, but it's difficult to find it in a stick (as I don't like the roll on or gel deodorants). It doens't have a super strong smell and works really well.

If I go off of my anxiety meds, I sweat like CRAZY (and go crazy..)

I was sweating so badly before I was on them, that I considered getting botox under my armpits. Yes, you can do that.

This stuff STOPS sweating. You get the weird crystal thing wet, and apply. It dries odorless and completely clear, so you can even put a layer of scented anti perspirent on top.

    :)

I agree with some of the other ladies. During sorority recruitment, we always put panty liners in our armpits. Try it ahead of time, so you can adjust them to not be visible and be reasonably comfortable.

Certi Dri is possibly the greatest thing ever to have been created. I seriously love it. Remember to put it on at night though! And leave your arms over your head to let it dry first before going to sleep.

    It's the bestest.
