i got initials for my bridesmaids and me. used my first name. i think it's cute for you to get your new last name letter. go for it!
For my BMs and for me, I used my first initial (esp since DH and I have the same first initial). I think technically, you are not supposed to use your new last initial until the reception stuff, but if it's what you really want to do, i think anything goes these days.
I was thinking about getting those too. I think I'm just going to get the first initial for my bridesmaids and my new last initial for me. After all, it will all be official just a few minutes after you walk down the aisle so I don't think it's bad luck, even though technically I guess you're not supposed to.
Where are you getting your initials from?
I am actually in luck since my new last name and first name are the same letter. I bought letters for my girlies, but hadn't even considered getting one for myself. I found mine at Wal-Mart of all places where they keep all the adornments for purses in the craft department. You can't beat the price for something the girls may never use again.
Hi Ladies! Thanks for the feedback! I decided to use my new last initial for the bouquet. I've seen the initials on those little sticks that you can actually mix in with the flowers (pretty expensive...about $30+ each) or I've seen an initial brooch pinned to the stem of the bouquet. I decided to get a pin and found one for about $8 (shipping included) on ebay. I searched "letter "B" pin," "initial pin," and "rhinestone initial "B" brooch."
Here's a link to a general search on ebay: http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?from=R40&_trksid=m37&satitle=initial+brooch
I would suggest adding the letter you want in quotations during your serach. A tip...look through all of the listings to find the price/style you want! I kept seeing Bs that were okay, but not what I really wanted. I finally found exactly what I was looking for after searching a few pages. This was the best price I found too...watch out for the shipping charges! Some were charging only a few dollars for the actual brooch and then tacking on a big shipping charge.
If you want the initials on stems, try searching for "bouquet jewelry" on google. Here's a link to one place: http://www.advantagebridal.com/swcrbojeescl.html
Good luck!
These are cute too:

And here's some you can glue on...not sure how well that would work though. I think a pin might work better.

Not much help but I got an easy out to that one. Both of our first names and his last name all start with an M. I'm using it on everything!
There's a heart-shaped silver bouquet decoration that you can personalize with two initials engraved into it at www.TheBrideAndGroomShop.com in the BrideShop section. A little different than the rhinestone ones.

I love the look of the little rhinestone initials encorporated into bouquets and such...are you girls using the initial from your first name, or your new last name? I'd like to get the first letter of my new last name, but is that bad luck or anything? Might be a silly question...
