    Having been the crazy woman who made apple pie cookies once last year, I say make a regular pie.

    Anything individual or smaller becomes exponentially more work!

    Great. Now I’m craving apple pie. Thanks a lot.

    That said, I’m a fan of regular-sized pies, not the individual-sized ones. I find that you get more of the filling with standard pies. The mini stuff tends to be a little crust heavy, with not enough of the good stuff in the middle. There is clearly a minimum for the ratio of crust to filling in order for the pie to be delectable, and the individual pies fall below that magical, golden number.

    Oh, and since you’re making apple pie, please feel free to overnight one or two to me. Thanks!!

    Don’t make them in muffin tins! It’s a huge hassle and doesn’t quite work out.

    maybe you could try making some turnovers or other pastry-type thing. Perhaps roll out your crust, put the filling in the center, and fold over the edges? That’s always fun and easy, and you don’t even have to change the ingredients.

    Try serving it with a slice of sharp cheddar cheese! (Which I believe is a regional thing to serve it that way)

    @Luligem:

    My grandma used to have a saying; “apple pie without cheese is like a hug without a squeeze!”

    Definitely regular sized.  The crust to filling ratio is much better.

    Mini pies!  I tend to overeat any time I see mini-sized anything, though.  So, you might have to bake a lot of them.

    I’d like an individual, because then the crust to filling ratio is higher!

    @Luligem:  oh man, apple pie with cheddar is the only way to go!

    @red_rose:  Depends if your folks are filling or crust folks. I prefer filling, and you tend to get less of that with individual pies :-p
