So right now, boyfriend and I are sitting in my living room (him in an armchair and me on the sofa... he doesn't like the sofa cause it's leather and it makes him sweaty) having our "work night." We take one night a week to work on stuff together in the same room but don't really talk; since we don't live together it's a good way for us to just chill without talking since we spend every single night talking nonstop! Anyway, he's working on a writing sample for phd applications and every once in a while, I can see him looking at me out of the corner of my eye and it is so cute! It's one of those silly things that makes me really comfortable in our relationship.
What is something that makes you comfortable in your relationship?
my hubby is so comfortable he falls asleep on me! we have these fab high backed leather cinema reclining seats at home (with cup holders, he chose them obviously) and i swear, he sits in it for 5mins and hes snoozing away while he forces me to watch pro bull riding on the tv! the second i turn the plasma off he says "i was watching that".... no dear, when your eyes are closed and you are softly snoring like that... thats called sleeping

the fact that we can tease eachother about stuff and not fight is what makes me comfy in our relationship
He is a morning person, I am not by any means. When I stay over, he is always up an hour before me puttering around the house, and wakes me up with the sweetest kisses and a big smile. Just waking up to his sunny affectionate demeanor is almost better that any caffeine to start the day.
We have been together for 10 years (and married for 1 month!) and frequently send each other emails and texts that say 'smooooooooooooch'!
I love it.
i got to bed late and he goes to bed early-i have to tuck him in every night!
^ lol. My boy goes to sleep late and I sleep early and he tucks me in every night
We have tons of little silly things. He will squeeze my hand 3 times for "I love you" and I will squeeze back twice for "me too" or vice versa
we wrestle! haha not that kind of wrestle (well that too!). we rough house! he'll tease me and i'll pinch him and he'll chase me and then i jump on his back, and before you know it, we're asleep on the floor in some weird tangled heap lol!
@ Bellini. We wreastle too! He actually dislocated my finger once on accident and thought I was faking it when I fell to the floor screaming. But it was worth it. I made him feel bad for weeks. Breakfast in bed, the whole nine yards. lol
wrestling!!! we have a money box where all our gold goins ($1 & $2 coins) go into - it takes about 6months to fill it up and its usually about $1800.00
anyways... hubby generally chases me around the room and then throws me onto the bed before he wrestles my coins from me a few times during the week... wonder what the neighbours think :)
We always answer the phone with each other's (very embarrassing) pet names -- he calls me mine and I call him his, and we say them to each other back and forth about 5 times! This happens multiple times a day since we are long distance and talk on the phone a lot. When one of us is in public and we talk on the phone, its funny when the one in public is trying to be normal, like "Hey, sweetie," and the other one just goes ahead with the ritual! It's a silly thing we do but it makes me smile every time.
We always have our "spots" on the couch, and when I'm at school he calls me every morning as my alarm clock =] There's a million and one things that make him awesome and me super comfortable in our relationship!
Ah yes, wrestling! I never thought I'd have so much fun being so...violent! :D In a playful way, of course. He'll pin me down but I can always find a way to tickle him (he's veryyyy ticklish...very cute, haha) and get out of the hold. We have all kinds of ridiculous antics that make our relationship comfortable and fun.

Since we don't live together, FI and I spend our evenings being mom and (step)dad. We do dinner and homework, oversee baths and all that. After the kids are in bed, we snuggle on the couch, watch a little tv, or read. I don't do well without enough sleep and as much as it irritates me, I need a lot of it. FI usually ends up sending me to bed fairly early or I fall asleep on his lap. Either way, he tucks me in or rubs my back/holds my hand/strokes my hair until I fall asleep. I'm spoiled, I know. hehe.
We thumb wrestle. I always win, despite the fact that he's 100lbs heavier and 10x stronger. Muahahaha. He also likes smacking my butt in public situations when I can't get him back. He's really good at winking (love it, so sexy & charming) and frequently gives me foot massages.
The best thing is that he's high energy and has this tendency to run around doing stuff even when he's exhausted. So whenever he sits down with me to watch a movie or relax, it takes about ten seconds before he's snoring on my shoulder. Apparently I have a magical ability to relax him and put him to sleep, haha. That definitely gives me a comfortable feeling. :)
@ eloping - that is EXACTLY what my dad does. Turns on football (and I grew up in a house of all girls) and within 5 minutes he falls asleep. Like eyes closed, snoring, just a bit of drool at the corner of his mouth. Then when you change the channel he mumbles that he's watching that.
Poor guy, he works so hard that he pretty much falls asleep whenever he sits on a couch (including, embarassingly, at other people's homes sometimes).
Hah hmmm we smack each other's butts in public (when other ppl can't see). It's kind of funny to see when we can get away with it. We both play with my dog and talk to him in a certain way we'd never do in front of others... seeing him play with him is actually really sweet because it makes me think he'll be a really good dad. We also talk to each other in this weird accent that isn't actually from anything and neither of us can remember how it started. :)
Oh! And my guy does the turn on the tv and fall asleep thing too, but it annoys the crap out of me haha. You girls are way nicer than I am... I wake him up and make him go to bed :)
Hmmm he wakes up in the morning and I make tea for both of us while he's in the shower. I also make tea for us in the evening and we lay in bed next to each other drinking it =) - we love his bed ... it's the most comfortable bed ever ... he always falls asleep before me ... so I come on WeddingBee .. and he thinks I'm "planning our wedding" ... which I am ... just on weddingbee!
He always comes to meet me at the nail salon and brings me starbucks ... everyone thinks its so cool... lol. He gets a manicure and sits with me =)
Umm... oh, when he's riding the bike ( stationary workout bike) I sit on the laptop next to him ... lolol ok I sound cheesy now. I also sit in the shower when he takes a shower and he always wants me in there.
Now that I think about it .. we're like little love birds.

FI makes me breakfast every morning including coffee! he also makes lunch for work at the same time... he's much more of a morning person than i am, so i stay in bed longer. i'm so lucky!
Oh man... loverboy and I can be sickeningly silly with rituals and "cute" "couples" things sometimes ... we play this game ... I have a tendency to call people "silly gooseberry"... I don't know where it comes from that I added berry but I did and he's o exception to the rule so usually he'll spit back with something like "silly duckberry" and we build off of that - putting things in categories and competing to have the last word. People must think we're nuts in public sometimes!
We save change in a "piggy" bank shaped like a monkey that he affectionately coined (tehehehe) Monica. And we feed Monica our change - she sits in the car ... she gets full just about every month and we end up with 60-80 dollars that we can use for date nights or something special. It's a fun little tradition we're starting and we hope to keep feeding Monica well into our dying years.
And girls - I feel you on the wrestling - it's so fun when he thinks he's got me and I throw in the tickle!
one of my favorite things is that I always read before I go to bed. Before, I used to always have to put my book away and turn the light off. But when I am with my FI (hubby in 5 days) I go to bed first... so I just fall asleep with the book right on my face, or in bed or whatever, knowing that will book the bookmark in, turn the light off and tuck me in.
It is sooo sweet, I love it!

We dance in the lounge... every week we go to dance lessons or evenings together, we were doing ballroom for a while and now it's rock 'n' roll. He loves to practice, and it's so much fun. Plus, now that wedding planning stress has kicked in, we DEFINITELY need some giggle and sneak-some-hugs time.
The mornings are our biggest ritual - no matter what we usually take at least 5-10 minutes when the alarm goes off to cuddle, then one of us gets up to shower and comes down to wake the other up with more kisses. It's such a wonderful way to start our days!

He "bops" the end of of my nose with his finger and says "Pop up video"
I have no idea where it started or why, but it cracks me up every time so he keeps doing it.
Awe, I like this thread! We do "birdie kisses." If he's in the bedroom working and I walk past and don't want to interrupt, I just make two quick little kissy noises to let him know I love him and he responds with two kissy noises back.
We didn't think anything of it until my parents came to visit and caught us doing it and thought it was hilarious neither one of us talked or stopped to respond- just a little kiss-kiss. so sweet. :)
We always set a "cuddle alarm" in the mornings - 30 minutes before we actually need to get up we will set an alarm and cuddle for the last 30 minutes of sleeping. We both get hot at night and we don't cuddle all night. So this is a nice way to get some cuddling in.
Also, when I'm not staying over at his apartment, we always talk on the phone right before we go to bed and we always say goodbye twice before hanging up. I don't know how or why it started but we will always say goodbye, wait a few seconds, then say it again. 
Me & FI do the kiss out loud thing when we're both on our laptops across the living room from each other!
Also, we don't live together (but we live in the same apartment complex) so he tucks me in and goes around my apartment, turns out every light and checks the locks to make sure I'm safe. It's so cute! My door auto-locks (it's like a hotel room doorknob/lock) so he always double checks that its locked when he leaves, too.
This is a super cute thread :).
My FI sings me the same song / lullaby before I go to sleep every night, wheather I'm at his place or over the phone.
We also have 'snuggle time' where we have to snuggle at least 10 minutes whenever we're not busy :).
There are so many lol. When we get are paychecks we like to go to the movie store and get the used movies for like 10 for 20 he will pick five and I will. Laying in his arms falling asleep. Going to church togather. @amandalynn lol we do the cuddle alarm too! We also have this thing where we fuss at one another because they are cuter.

Usually during a conversation he always says "wanna fight?" and I say "in a loving way?". He then says "of course" and I say "I'll win!". Then he makes fun of me for thinking that I will win and it all ends when I say we both will win.
@eloping - Yeah, my husband does that too! Except he calls his naps, "stretching my back." Like it's exercise... uh huh.

my fiance loves it when I do his nails (hands and especially feet). Cut, file...but the big excitement is pushing the cuticle. lol. He says its relaxing.
It never bothers me that he doesn't do his own nails...he loves it so much and gets so excited...its cute!
@sandollar - you def brought back a memory of something I had forgotten...
When we were first talking - like not even on a first date yet and in the first few days of e-mailing, we had this conversation about how stupid we think it is to argue in a text message. We exchanged number during those e-mails and later that day - being that flirty-awesome version of me - I sent him the first text... "you wanna fight?"
His response was something hysterical that included "you don't even think about my needs" and that was it. Many 6 hour phone conversations were ahead.
Our latest thing is announcing the countdown till the wedding - which he keeps up with and I think it's the cutest. "Babe - in 361 days - you'll be my WIFE!" :)
For some odd reason when we were first together he'd randomly say "boobs" and grin, so I said "balls" back to him. A bit rude, but even now I'll get a text that says "boobs".
Each time we enter the Disney store we have a competition - the first one to find Nemo wins!
I pluck his hair. He gets bizarre strands on his ear lobes and particularly wiry ones on his back. So I tweeze them, with an odd satisfaction, and he loves it! He LOVES being 'pampered'!
He tells me he loves me EVERY single day. sometimes a large part of our LDR telephone conversation will be him just saying I love you inbetween sentences.
I've adopted how he doesn't say words properly. e.g. laptop = lapamatop, giraffe = raff, soup = noop.
When we've gone away for short breaks he will be naked not long after we're there and sitting around in the room. It's fairly often I'll be happily in my clothes reading or whatever and he'll be as bare as the day he was born pottering around!
Just a few. most of them TMI, sorry if this has offended anyone!

we ro-sham-bo for everything. picking the movie, doing dishes, etc. we don't even say anything, just hands out in "rock", best of one, and loser does whatever. no questions or complaints (every now and again you'll hear an "aw man!" from the loser).
Every time my FI kisses me on the forehead he kisses it 6 times. One kiss for him, one for me, one for our dog, Boris, one for our dog Milo, one for our cat Bug and one for our other dog who passed, Bosco. I love it. It's special to me. And he kisses the pets that way too.
