It’s been a weird week and this morning has been no exception. I needed a little laugh and thought I would share with you lovely ladies!
So I have always worn at least one ring on each hand since around high school. I had a bad habit a while back of losing them, but I’ve had the three I wear for a couple of years. I don’t usually take them off either. Anyway, this morning I discover the only ring I wear on my left had broke. I really liked that ring! Anyway, the first thing I thought of was, “hey, I think it’s a sign! I need a ring for my left hand. Oh, geez, an engagement ring would be perfect!” I know, totally ridiculous, but it made my laugh all the way into work. This is the reason I’m going to use for me forgetting to bring any food at all with me to work.
Anyone else find silly things that you call a “sign” that you should engaged that make you laugh?

I have a ring that I wear on my right hand that I’ve nonchalantly put on my left ring finger, a few times, and didn’t realize it. Last time it took me almost an hour to realize it wasn’t on my right hand.

I don’t really have any that make me laugh–just a bunch of people asking me and some nudging from family : )
But I have promise ring that I have worn on my left hand for almost 4 years. I have since switched it to the right, BECAUSE people kept asking when the date was (since we have been together so long) and I got tired of explaining. SO noticed the switch pretty quickly and when he asked me about it I said “well…people think we are engaged and we’re not. I will wear something on the left hand when its the right time…” He smirked and that conversation was over ; )

Also have you made your SO aware of the “sign”? How does he take it when you hint?

@LiliKitty: Haha, that’s funny. I used to wear my high school class ring on my left ring finger for some odd reason.
@MissSooner: I could see how a promise ring would be mistaken for an engagement ring. I haven’t seen my SO since the ring broke but if I mention anything of my silly signs, he laughs and says soon. In fact, out of nowhere on Monday he said he knew that the wedding season makes it harder for me to wait but our engagement plans are already “in the works” and I just need to have a little more patience, which is not helpful. He told me I’ll be surprised, well maybe not that surprised. Anyway, I’m pretty sure he’s planning on proposing on 8/8 while we hike a 14er. We’ll see!!

i am definitely the kind of person who would take that as a sign! haha. i hope it happens for you soon!
mine was not a sign because it wasn’t coincidental and i was being especially dumb, but i’ll share it for a laugh. you know how if you go on certain sites on google, they pick up on what you’ve been doing and adjust their advertising accordingly? so a couple of days into the internet ring design browsing that SO and i were doing (simultaneously on the phone, we are LDR), all these engagement rings advertisements kept popping up on every site i went to. i said to SO, “seriously, this is so weird. it’s like the universe knows we are looking at rings and planning our engagement!” after a moment of silence (disbelief at my stupidity, probably), SO said, “think very hard about what you just said. it’s google.” big oops.
thankfully he didn’t dump me. obviously he’s with me for the beauty, not the brains 😉

@peonia: Oh no! I could totally see myself doing that too. I’m glad your SO has a sense of humor. After you get engaged, you can tell it as a cute story.

@ColoradoGirl: Ahahahaha! I think I would call it a sign! 🙂

I bought me a divorce ring and the huge… Yeah I bought what I wanted stone came out. And my first thought was “I love that ring” second thought ” I hope this is a sign it will soon be replaced”. I love the thought process we go through!! And I won’t get ring fixed bc bf says that men think its my engagement ring anyways…. So for now I paint my left ring finger a different nail polish cover to draw attention.
Love the laugh!
