So YAY! Fiance finally relented and is allowing me to buy the lovely Manolos I’ve had my eye on for months for my wedding shoe, especially since I was able to cut a few things from our budget and now the shoes are more than affordable (they were before also, but now they fit in our wedding budget rather than just my personal budget, which I was going to use to buy them before). Now my dilemma is if I should get silver or blue.
The silver ones would be easier to get, since I’m heading down to Minneapolis in a couple weeks and I’ve found a few stores that have them in stock in my size. Silver (well grey) is also FI’s favourite colour. I’m not sure though if they would “work” though since they wouldn’t quite match my dress which is kind of silver.
I haven’t been able to find anywhere in Minneapolis that has the blue ones in stock, nor have I been able to find anywhere that will ship them to Canada. I don’t want to order them without at least trying on the same style of shoe, so I’d have to order them after my trip and have them delivered to a parcel pick up location close to the border, which would involve about a 3 hour round trip and duty when I bring them up. Blue is pretty much my ‘signature’ colour too, and the blue shoes would go with more of the outfits I already own so I’d be able to wear them more often after the wedding.
For reference, here’s the shoes in blue: http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/manolo-blahnik-sedaraby-open-toe-dorsay-pump/3257416?origin=keywordsearch
and in silver: http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/manolo-blahnik-sedaraby-open-toe-dorsay-pump/3112374?origin=keywordsearch
And here’s my dress:

I think the silver would be too close to your dress colour, while not-quite-matching. In which case I would rather go for a contrast colour. You can’t go wrong with the blue pair, they’re stunning and can be your something blue. 🙂

The blue shoes would look nice as a contrast 🙂

I voted for blue. Have you tried looking on EBay? You might have an easier time getting them shipped to you through an individual seller. I bought my shoes on EBay and they were in good condition (only tried on in a store) and I got an amazing price. Just a suggestion 🙂

I agree with folks that the blue would look beautiful!

@futuremrste: I would do the blue ones! And I LOVE those shoes! I wanted to wear those for my wedding, but they weren’t in my budget.
Pics for everyone…

@LaceyBride1123: I might try that! I’m definitely going to try the silver ones on in store first though so I know what size I need, especially if I go the ebay route!
@ceebree: Thanks for posting photos! I was having issues posting them (I was on a work computer and they’re terrible and old!)
@peonyinparis: Even if I went with the silver ones I still have my something blue – my e-ring! It has 2 peekaboo sapphires in it. But I agree that the silver is too close while not close enough at the same time.
Thank you to everyone who voted!
