I am planning on doing a guest book similar to this:
So I am trying to find a nice silver pen for my guests to write with. My problem is that gel pens smear and the silver sharpies only come in fine tip which isn’t very “fine” (I’d like something closer the the ultra fine sharpie).
Do you have any advice or recomendations for silver pens that won’t smear?? Have any of you done something similar to this?

We did a photobook with black pages as well. We used very fine-tip silver Sharpie markers and they worked like a charm 🙂

I found some nice gel pens at Hobby Lobby to address my black linen RSVP envelopes. Worked like a charm!

Yeah – I was going to recommend the silver sharpies as well. We used a regular black sharpie (no fine tip or anything) with our guest book and it is still really easy to read so I don’t think you’d have any problems with the fine tip silvers!

Do they make “very fine point” silver sharpies? Or just the “fine point” ones? I don’t think I have ever found “very fine point” ones. I think I will have to go to Office Max after work now….
Also, did you have any problems with the tips getting blunt from people pushing too hard or overuse? How many pens would you recommend having on had for about 250 guests?

We had 1 Sharpie for 135 guests but it could have kept working long past that. At most, I’d have two to be safe.
And the silver only appear to come in “fine point” but that is a 1 mm tip. I don’t see why you’d need a tip more fine than that!

Michaels has what you’re looking for. I’ve used them several times for similar projects; and one of my friends did almost the exact same guestbook as above…got the silver pens at michael’s. They come in different-tipped sizes (fine, superfine, medium, etc). good luck!

That’s the exact photo for my guestbook inspiration! We’re using fine point silver sharpies

I went out tonight and bought a 4 pack of silver sharpies from Walmart (I am not a huge fan of the store, but they were only $3 for all 4… it was $6.79 at Office Depot!!!). So, I am looking forward to trying them out!
Thanks for all the good advice!
