I have found I really like the Weddingbee for the community and general set up of the forums/discussion boards. It’s pretty easy to navigate and I really like that recent threads will rise to the top (much better than some of the other sites set ups). While there are non-wedding related topics, I was wondering if you bees read any other forums you should suggest. I am pretty open to a variety of topics/focuses, and I am just curious.
I am not trying to direct traffic away from the Weddingbee by any means, but I would like to drop in on other forums as well. If you wouldn’t mind posting some other sites you frequent and for what reasons/topics, I would greatly appreciate it!

Opps, can this thread be moved to Beehive or another topic area!

Have you tried reddit? A lot of people like it but I can’t stand the layout or how it works. They do have a wide variety of subjects though. I’ve used the CL forums before, they aren’t bad but I find the pets section overbearing.

@tksjewelry: Hadn’t heard of Reddit before, but after quickly glancing at the website, you are right, the layout is horrible.

@bmo88: A Practical Wedding resonates with some people.
And then there is GOMI. 🙂

@FauxPas2012: I will check both of those out, thank you!

@bmo88: Great question. I wish I had an answer. I will be checking back to see responses!

Commenting to follow. I’ve posted before that I’d like to find a good older women’s forum (mothers of teenagers, mid life careers / health / menopause, etc) without much success.
Most traditional forums do recent threads first though.

@bmo88: I post in a couple of other forums that are more specific to my interests, for example I am interested in classical music – studying, listening, and playing it, so Talk Classical is the place for that. And another general music forum as well. They’re both in vBulletin layout though, so they look different from this website and you also can’t tag users in replies (doesn’t bother anyone though). Recent threads are always bumped to the top, like here. I find that’s the case with all the forums I’ve ever visited.
I wish I had a better answer to your question though! I’m not sure of any forums that are similar to this one but non wedding.

@bmo88: I haven’t seen any other forum, and I deal a lot with political forums, with the great looks, layout, and functionality that Mrs Bee and Mr Bee gave this site. Those are the main things that drew me here in the first place. I’m surprised that someone, at least I haven’t seen one, hasn’t made some better designed sites (outside of HelloBee).

A few years ago I was in love with a site called Experience Project and actually met my best friend on there! You can post your experiences and share in those topics with others that are interested or have similar experiences.

I really like the healthy lifestyle forum at http://caloriecount.about.com. A lot of people use My Fitness Pal, but I gravitate towards CalorieCount more. I also like Red Flag Deals (but that’s more for bargain-hunting Canadians).

Internet Brands, who owns this site, also owns like a million similar sites, for all interests.

Hi BMO! I second the other poster’s comment about Reddit. It is one of my favorites. Once you get used to the layout it’s really nice 🙂 I’m a regular over there.

This is my favorite site right now!
