This is my first post here 🙂 I have been looking at engagement rings for a while now and have fallen in love with thin, pave style rings. I have a thin size 3.5 finger and I don’t want a thick band or a large diamond.
Previously I had fallen in love with this style from Blue Nile:
But I just discovered this from “Pompeii3” on ebay (and the price is hard to beat):
I’ve read mixed reviews about the seller, so I was wondering if anyone had seen any similar? A thin pave band but with a bit more detail? Also, if I were to purchase the one from ebay, I’m not sure how I would add a stone to it? Do most jewlers do that?

@mrsea: The Blue Nile ring is my engagement ring! I have an emerald cut diamond in it (and a size 4.5 finger) and I LOVE it. I also have the matching wedding ring (though I can’t actually wear it yet!) I, too, have heard mixed reviews about the Pompeii rings. I don’t know anything about them, but I can say that with Blue Nile you get excellent quality for a good price, and my FI also loved their customer service. Here’s my petite pave ring:

I have a setting from one place and my diamond came from Wink Jones. FI had a third jeweler set it because the store he got the setting from wanted to charge $300 to set it. And, I would not buy something like this off eBay.

@Willow1991: Your band is beautiful! Where is it from?

@mrsea: Thank you, it is from ShaneCo and it came with a matching band.

I’ve seen feedback on the Bee that pompeii’s diamonds tend to be of a lower clarity/colour, however, if all you’re getting is the mount, I think you’d hardly notice.

I think for the price difference it’s worth trying the ebay one. order it, and if you don’t like it return it. The diamonds will certainly be of less quality but it’s up to you to see if you’re visibly bothered by it as seen next to your center stone.

@mrsea: Here’s my petite pave. It’s 1.5mm

My ring will be almost exactly the same as the Blue Nile you are considering but it’s from Brilliant Earth. Same premise on ethical origin jewelry. I would take a look and compare. I don’t have the ring yet because it’s still being made in San Francisco, so unfortunately I don’t have a picture to share other than what’s on their site!

here’s my petite pave from blue nile! i have a size 5 ring and its a 1.7 carat round brilliant.
as a side note, online the setting says it’s 2mm. i got my ring appraised and they put the band at 1.85 at its thickest point. i think it looks stunning and so slender but just something to keep in mind!

That first setting is mine! I adore it!

I also have the petite cathedral pave setting from Blue Nile, and I absolutely LOVE it! I agree with PPs that Blue Nile also has great customer service.
