I have a Mikaella gown that is very simple and beautiful. There are no beads or lace or crystals or ruffles or frills. It is ivory silk and has rouching on the bodice and is a simple A line gown. I can post a picture if you are interested although it is last season - you can go on the Mikaella website to see some similar gowns.
My friend got her dress from Nicole Miller - very simple and elegant. I have a Christos - lace overlay, but subtle and simple. Jenny Yoo makes pretty dresses, and Vera Wang, of course. The more upscale and pricey you go, the more you will see simple elegance.
I tried on some gorgeous Casablanca gowns that were very simple. They have a pretty wide spectrum of gowns, from very simple to extremely ornate.
I love my Christos, I think it definitely falls in the category of simple, romantic elegance.
Carolina Herrera and Vera Wang also come to mind, along with Sarah Seven.
Amsale - she tends to have classic simple dresses with a little bit of a modern twist (little bit of detail, that isn't overwhemlimg). I LOVE her! :)
Check out Amy Kuschel http://www.amykuschel.com/gowns/names-index/all The dresses you may like that seem to be along the style and feel of Pronovias Georgia: June, Mimi, Moda and Robinson?
I agree that Mikella dresses are pretty simple as are Nicole Miller. J Crew makes pretty simple looking wedding dresses as well. Really, MOST designers have *some* simple looking dresses, it just takes wedding through them all.
I love that SanDiegoAli said "wedding through it all". Freudian slip?
Another designer is Elizabeth Fillmore.
Mikaella and Paloma Blanco dresses are all pretty simple, clean & elegant (and AWESOME!!)
I am flipping through the Spring MSW that i just grabbed at the grocery store - - Angel Sanchez has some really beautiful simple yet elegant gowns....
J. Crew too! http://www.jcrew.com/AST/Browse/WeddingParties/Wedding_Bride.jsp
I agree with Amsale. I had an Amsale for my weding and PP is right - she makes very classic and elegant gowns with minimal detailing
Amsale! Also have you seen Pure by Justin Alexander?
I love my CiciBridal dress! Lots of detail, but still very simple! But really, check out etsy, lots of fabulous designers for awesome prices!
I would also say to check out Nicole Miller - hers are very simple usually, but pretty classic designs. Her dresses are fairly inexpensive compared to many other designers as well, which is a bonus!
Romona Keveza does a lot of gowns with simple draping and ruching, and classic silhouettes.
I would also check out Augusta Jones. I came very close to getting her dress "Kenzie" which is so simple and pretty but ultimately got "Sterling" which is detailed (all lace) but still pretty simple.
Check out Jenny Yoo (jennyyoo.com). She calls her wedding dresses "wedding alternatives," not sure why. I wore her Mira Long for my wedding. She uses lovely fabrics, minimal or no ornamentation and they are reasonably priced.
Thanks ladies!!! I knew you'd be a huge help!

What designers have simple dresses that are stunning? I like Pronovias' Georgia, so I'm thinking something like that...no beads, crystals, etc. I just can't seem to find much out there. I don't like ruffles and frills. Thanks!
