I just need to vent. I’m so nervous………….My Bachelorette Party is tomorrow and yesterday I found out I have a Sinus Infection…It’s my first one ever! I’m just so frustrated about it – out of all times of the year! It’s 15 days until my wedding and I have so much left to do – but instead, I’m exhausted and in bed. I am on antibiotics – just started yesterday. I’m not sure how long they take to start working. I’m just so pissed off. I know this isn’t something I can control…. but it makes me so sad. I was looking so forward to having fun with my girls tomorrow. I hope I’ll feel good enough to go. Uhg. Just so upset. 🙁

The medications should start working in a day or two, and you will feel like a brand new person! Try not to party too hard so you dont’ wind up getting sicker…especially since your wedding is so close!!!! That stinks…I hope you feel better soon and are able to go to your party!!!

I get sinus infections occasionally and within 24 hours after starting antibiotics, I feel MUCH better. After 48 hours, it’s as if I was never sick. You likely will feel fine by tomorrow.

Ugh. I know the feeling. I came down with a sinus infection the Wednesday before my wedding (but at the time I didn’t realize that’s what it was… just thought it was a cold since I’d never had a sinus infection before). Ended up sick throughout the whole rehearsal, wedding day, and honeymoon before I was able to get to a doctor. It’s good that you’ve got the medication already… should be good as new in no time!
Hope you feel better soon, and stay better!

Thanks for the encouragement, ladies. I’ve never had one before so I don’t know any kind of timeline of when I should start feeling better. I am very fortunate that it didn’t just happen a few days before the wedding….How awful!!
@HappyCrickets – I thought it was just a cold up until yesterday, too. I’m so glad my FI pushed me to go to the doctor. I thought it was just allergies. I’m so sorry that happened to you!
@Neva – THANK YOU for the encouragement. I’m on 1,000 of antibiotics a day, so I’m hoping it kicks in quickly!
@soyjoy222 – Thank you. I’ll take it easy. 🙂

As I’m laying here in bed….the antibiotics are kicking in!! WOOOHOOOO!!!! …now, if I can just stay down in bed long enough to get better.
….fluffing pom flowers doesn’t take that much effort, right? DIYing in bed!

Are you on amoxicillin? That is powerful stuff and will kick in fast. Drink lots of water to flush your system. I get sinus and allergy issues all the time. Rest up and have fun these last couple weeks. All will be well. 🙂

@Cornflakegirl: No, they put me on Cerfuroxime because I was almost in tears at the doctor telling them my wedding was so close. It’s supposed to be fast acting, but yesterday and this morning I had no idea how I was going to be able to enjoy my party feeling the way I was (in the moment kind of thought)… I hope to feel great tomorrow.
I thought it was allergies at first. I’m kind of glad it’s not – sinus infections can be cured – allergies, if bad enough, are harder to treat. My medicine cabinet is filled with Clariton, Zytrtec, Benadry, and Allegra. It’s ridiculous. My body must have thought – why not add some antibiotics to the mix?
Do you find that sinus rinses help you?
