The original thread here explains how my sisters-- my only two bridesmaids-- dropped the ball with regards to any kind of bridal shower or bachelorette party. I did end up sending an e-mail explaining how important it is to me to have SOMEthing. The next day my sister called me and we ended up in a huge fight. I won't go into all the details, but I was really worried that it wasn't going to be easily fixed.
The next day I e-mailed her an apology and then she e-mailed me an apology and we both agreed to give a little: she understands now that I need more support from her with regards to my upcoming marriage and that while things are going to change, we will still be sisters and friends; I needed to understand that even though this is the biggest thing in my life right now she needs me to still be there like I always was before-- calling just to talk and stuff like that.
And now things are great. Mostly. My sisters have decided they can't throw me a bachelorette party but they will throw me a shower. 2 weeks before Christmas in another city. I am not expecting most of my friends to be able to make it. But my church is throwing me a bridal shower next month, and I recruited two of my best friends to come to Austin for New YEars Eve for a makeshift bachelorette party/girls night. I can't believe I am getting married in 67 days!
