AllyCRN:  I wouldnt kick them out personally (although i think the “sister pact” thing is kind of strange) I would however go back to your original vision. Long dresses in chiffon! It’s YOUR wedding and giving up control to make it easier has only made you unhappy. Just tell them you thought long and hard about it and long dresses in biscotti is really what you love. If they get pregnant (IF) then they can order two sizes up, get alterations, or opt not to be in the bridal party. At least then you are getting what you want and they can choose to be in or out. I hope it works out! I was having a similar problem myself and i just had to stick to my original ideas (and it helped!)

Wait, what? You’re kicking them out because they’re planning on getting pregnant, and you don’t think the dresses you chose would be accomodating of that? Am I interpreting this correctly?

rachel85:  no i think she just wants them to wear the bridesmaid dress and if they get pregnant they can get it altered. I wouldn’t kick them out for wanting to expand their family.

LegallyBrunetteBee:  Ok. Yeah, I guess that makes sense? Although I wouldn’t kick someone out for not being able to fit into a particular style of dress, either. If they’re important enough to be in the wedding, you should be able to find a workaround, right? People > pictures. And it sounds like they’ll be able to have them altered anyway. NBD.

Buy some extra fabric. David’s should be able to add it to the order. If one or more get pregnant, a seamstress can make expansion panels out of the extra fabric. Problem solved. Life is way too short to get bent out of shape over who might get pregnant when.

There are way too many “if’s” in this situation to worry about any of them. Proceed with the color selection as you had planned and deal with any complications should they arise. No one knows if any of them will get pregnant, or when, or how energetic or sick they will feel, or how much they will show. You can deal with it down the road. Don’t sweat it.

Also, these empire-waisted dresses come in biscotti and would probably “work” depending on how the lining fits:

HBanan:  The second halter dress is really pretty, and should definitely work for bigger bellies. OP,  maybe that’s one to add to your mismatch style vision IF some/all of them end up pregnant?

It is your right and priviledge to pick the dress.  If they want it changed, say, sorry and I understand if you do not want to be in the wedding party.

juanita.kelly.9:  It’s her right to make that call, yes. But I guess it comes down to the big question of which is more important: including these people in her special day, or having a very specific aesthetic (only this dress style in only this one color) for the pictures?

Through most of a pregnancy you don’t need special clothes – a lot of girls dont start showing until 5mos w/ a first pregnancy and the really big hard to accommodate belly is only a concern for a few months at the end. I can’t imagine a situation in which alterations couldn’t make this dress work.
