- Wedding: September 2015
So, FI and I haven’t officially picked a venue, but we both know pretty much the one we’re going to go with. It fits all of our needs and our budget. We love it. Now, the only problem is, it’s not a traditional wedding venue, so the space we would be using isn’t your typical pews/chairs on opposite sides of an aisle setup. What we have is a bunch of long tables with an aisle running between them (About 2×10 tables roughly). Now, some tables have fold out chairs, and others have picnic table benches. The tables can’t be moved. They’re set like that permanently. Would it be weird/awkward/uncomfortable to have the guests sit at these tables for the ceremony? I think my biggest concern would be having some guests sitting on a bench behind the tables. I always thought sitting at picnic tables was awkward, having to clambor over it to sit if you’re in the middle. You can’t just slide in from the end. I can only imagine what it would be like in nice clothing. Ideally, we’d be able to set it up to where that won’t be an issue, but just in case, I’m looking for opinions. How would you feel about this as a guest? Would the tables be a problem for you regardless of seating? Would fold out chairs be better than the benches? I could really use the feedback.
