So my e-ring is alittle big. Well, maybe a lot big. I’m always having to turn it to face front and it slides up too much and can slide off if I shake my hand. Now the other day, it was hot and my fingers got a little swollen and it fit almost perfect. Should I size it down and risk it fitting tight when my finger swells up. Or leave it as is, having it fit too loose?
How much bigger is your e-ring than your actuall ring size? And if you had your ring sized down, how long did it take?

@bridalprincess: Yes, I definitely think you should get it sized smaller. My ring is a bit loose too but it won’t slide off my hand if I shake it, even when I’m cold. When I’m warm it fits slightly snug.
My ring is a 4 and a half. Who is your jeweler? If they do in house repairs/sizing and they aren’t busy they could probably do it in a day. If they don’t and they have to send it off I’d imagine it could take a few days.

It does sound like you need your e-ring to be sized slightly smaller. Having to constantly turn the ring around so that it faces up and being able to shake it right off your hand – not how your ring should be fitting.
My ring fits comfortably when my fingers are not swollen nor cold and shriveled (not that that literally happens but there are times when my fingers feel skinnier). It is more snug when my hands are swollen and slides off easy when my fingers are cold and shriveled. I have never had it fit so loose that I could shake it off nor have it fit so tight that I couldn’t get it off.
I think you need to find the right balance. You shoudn’t size it so drastically that it fits snugly even when your hands aren’t swollen, but perhaps try going a half size down and see what happens. If you deal with a smart jeweler he’ll know how to advise you, as well.

Mine is TIGHT – that’s how I like it. I just had it sized down a half size. It’s going to be snug for my FI to push it on my finger, so we’ll use a little Vaseline. I hate rings turning so now it should be great!

Also, it took about 5 days (over a weekend) to resize it, but many places can do it in an hour or two.

I’m the same way with rings as Julie12. My ring is currently at the jewelers getting sized because it was so loose on me. I got it sized down to a 4.25 because i didnt want to sliding over to one side thing going on. i’m probably a 4.5 when my fingers swell but if it bothers me I can always get it sized back up. No big deal.

I got my ering sized in summer…..now that its winter it spins a little….but not enougth to bother me.
My suggestion to you is to get 2 little beads/balls soldered into the inside of your ring. that way it will fit you easily and be very comfortable to wear whether your finger is swollen or normal sized.

Size it down 1/4 size I would say. Although sizing it down won’t necessarily prevent it from spinning – my jeweler said that depends on the size of the ring and how top heavy it is. YOu can get those little beads put in to help with spinning though.

Ok I took it back to the jeweler to get it sized down and it will take about a week. Thanks ladies.
