When we went and tried rings on a size 6 fit perfect which is what was ordered. Now that its in, its pretty big and obivous that its going to need to be sized. How long does that take to make a ring smaller?

It really depends on where you get it sized and how busy they are. Some places will size it while you wait, some places have to send the ring out to be sized, and some will have you leave your ring with them for a few days or longer depending on how busy they are.

Just wondering, when did you try the other ring on?  I find that my fingers shrink up during the winter so I can have a ring that fits well during the winter but then during the summer, it gets a bit tight at times.

It definitely depends on the particulars of the ring and where it is from! I know that my particular ring designer absolutely must do all of the sizing/adjusting of pave stones/etc. If I let someone other than the designer adjust my ring in any way, it voids our warranty, and my lifetime replacement of diamods that fall out/crack/etc is no longer available. So, if I need anything changed, I have to send it in to the designer in California. However, I know that my particular ring might be a rare case!

@MissAsB: The same is true of me. My ring is so loose right now I can spin it around on my finger, but this only happens when it's really cold out!

My e-ring and wedding band are from 2 different jewelers. If I go to a chain store (e-ring) it takes at least 1 week. If I go mom-n-pop (band) it's about 2 hours, including redipping because it's white gold. Depends where you need to go. If I take either of my rings to a diff. store then I lose my warranty.
