About 3 months ago a had this extremely itchy rash like area on my arm on the inside of my elbow. It was extremely sensitive to the sun (burned like fire anytime I was outside), it itched so bad I drew blood a few times, it was bright red and somewhat raised. It never really got flaky. We chalked that up to being a mystery allergic reaction. I took 2 rounds of prednizone and had a tube of steroid cream and neither worked. It eventually went away on its own. Then at the end of August my whole upper chest/neck area broke out. The rash looked identical. It was bright red, extremely itchy, hot to the touch then after a week it started to fade away and got pinkish, less itchy, it got dry and very flaky. Now every couple days it will repeat this. Right now I’m in the red itchy period when yesterday I was dry and flaky. I do not believe this to be an allergic reaction. I have looked online at many skin issues and rashes etc etc and psorasis is the only one that makes sense. I haven’t seen my primary care dr about the chest breakout yet but I plan on making an appt on Monday. I made an appt in august for my dermotologist and his closest opening was december. Also, if it matters, my son has extremely bad eczema/psoriasis I firget which one on his arms, legs butt, back, neck, etc. He’s 4 and has had it since he was an infant.
Has anyone else experienced anything like this? How do you/did you deal with it? I’m extremly miserable from all the itching. Its also taken a major blow to my self esteem as its right on my upper chest/neck area and all my shirts are low cut.
