I don’t think it’s weird under those circumstances…

We don’t do this, but I could see doing it! It makes sense.

FI and I are down to sleeping in the same bed on weekends only. It’s kinda lonely, but he has such a hard time sleeping in the summer heat and he’d rather not keep me up with his tossing and turning. And I hate having the fan blowing on me. As soon as we can afford a bigger bed it wont be an issue.

So to answer your question-no not weird. Who cares what people think is weird or not, as long as you both are getting enough rest? lol

Ugh, I don’t but I totally should when FI is sick!!  Last year I moved in with him the week that I started a new job… and had to miss days #2 and #3 of my new! job! because I caught a stomach flu from him.  So embarrassing!!  So good for you for taking the precaution!

I actually do it on a regular basis when I just can’t sleep well in our bed (i’m a horrible sleeper). But, truth be told, you’re not missing out on the germs by being on the couch. They are all over the bathroom, kitchen, anything he has breathed on or touched. It won’t keep you from getting sick – it’ll just keep you from going crazy from it being super hot!

I personally don’t unless he has a cough or something that would prevent me from getting any sleep, but I certainley don’t think it’s weird.

I am super odd and love sleeping on the floor, so I volunteer to sleep there if he’s sick or we have a fight! LOL.

We sleep alone when we’re sick. If I have a cold, I need to have my pillows a certain way and it’s easier to sleep alone. Not weird at all.

@LolaMonster:  I’m actually the one who sleeps on the couch when I’m sick. I don’t know why, I’ve just always slept on the couch when I’m sick.

We don’t do this, but I think we would if there was a specific important reason one of us was trying to avoid getting sick. I’ve been known to sleep on the couch if I’ve had too much to drink because I get restless and too warm, and I don’t want to keep him up with my tossing and turning.

However, when one of us is sick we’ll stop sharing food/drinks and avoid kissing for a while…

My FH actually volunteered to sleep on the couch the last time he was sick so he wouldn’t disturb me. He’s a keeper. 🙂

If I’m really sick, I always just want to sleep on the couch.. no idea why! I’ve always done that, ever since I was little. Usually I can’t sleep that well anyway, so at least I have the TV 🙂
