I'm curious if anyone's spouse snores and how you handle it.

I have a hard time falling asleep so if someone is snoring, it would mean a long night for me.  I've heard someone's roomate snore so loudly that the apartment walls shook!  I think that would be a dealbreaker for me.

I am lucky that my fiance is usually a quiet sleeper.  He occasionally snores when he's had a long, tiring day.  It doesn't bother me much since I'm a very heavy sleeper, and I can barely wake up to my own alarm clock. He does, however, move around a lot in bed and takes the blanket away from me.

I've heard of older married couples who have to sleep in separate rooms because the snoring is so loud.. I hope that never happens to me.

My spouse snores but it isn't a big deal, I have a prescription sleep aide.  A plane landing in my front yard wouldn't wake me.

Nope, he doesn't do any of the above.

I had a previous bf who snored like crazy, though. I don't miss that. :-P

At one time or another, my husband has done all of the above!  His teeth grinding is the worst, it's incredibly loud.  I'm afraid that he's going to do some serious damage to his teeth.  He also kicked me in the bum once.

This is so funny! I have actually gotten slapped/punched by my fiance! Not on purpose but enough for me to wake him up to let him know what he did! haha!

only when he had had to much to drink, then he snores a lot! A good shove stops it for a while...The other odd habit he has, and he goes through phases of doing this, is chewing VERY loudly.  So loudly it wakes me up.  Its soooo weird.  I was telling my SIL about this, and she said her husband (my husband's brother) does this too.  Odd!

Haha, he doesn't do any of those things, but I do!

I talk in my sleep-in fact, I have my own sleep language. It's really frustrating, actually, because I get into this weird mental state and talk to him in my language, and I understand it, but he doesn't and I am like !!!!! why don't you know what I am talking about. lol

Apparently I also grind my teeth if I forget to brush before bed-I guess I am trying to clean them myself.

And...I tend to spread myself out all over the bed, so he has like 2 inches to himself.

I am a terrible bed sharer. Sleeping with your Spouse : wedding snore snoring sleep Icon Redface

My fiance talks in his sleep, and it is quite funny.  My favorite was when he began calling the dogs and clapping his hands.  I had to stop him before the two labs woke up and jumped on the bed!

There was also the time he said "that's because your ass is big!"  I hope that wasn't a dream about me!

Mine snores, but usually only if on his back.  So, I just usually help him roll over.  When he first does start dozing off his leg will usually twitch, it always happens when he is fighting the sleep.  I'm a teeth grinder and a few times I've talked in my sleep, he's lucky because I used to also walk in my sleep occasionally.  So, between the two of us we do all those things!

He usually stops snoring when I nudge him.  A benadryl will also generally make him stop.  On nights when he won't stop, and I would be up all night nudging him, one of us will go camp out in the guest room.

I grind my teeth; I have a night guard to wear when it's bad, which isn't often.  Probably the most annoying thing about me (for him) is that I'm a snuggler - he accuses me of always being on his side of the bed.  Well, yeah, because that's where he is!  (And also because the cats are on my side of the bed.  What we really need is a king-sized bed, but we're saving for a new stove at the moment...  maybe next year!)

My fiance snores SOOOOO loud! I can hear him all the way downstairs, with the bedroom door closed!! It used to really bother me, but trust me, you get used to it. He's gotten used to me hogging the bed and stealing the covers, so I can get used to his snoring! Don't have a choice, going to be sleeping beside him sawing logs for the next 50-60 years!!! (wow...that's a lot of snoring!)

My husband snores if he is overly tired, but he ususally stops if I nudge him.  What is more irritating than the snoring is that he steals the covers!  I have to grab them and pul them away from him or I end up with nothing!

My fiance is a sleep talker/walker.  It provides endless amusement.  Right now I'm particularly enjoying his wedding dreams.  One night he got out of bed to tell me, all concerned that "There's invitations all over the place.  Like, pieces of cardboard everywhere!"

Another great one was when he got out of bed to tell me I had to go in the bedroom to get the dog (our only dog) because he was running all around and keeping him up.  I gently told him that the dog was with me, sleeping at my feet.  He got very confused and said "No.  The other one."

But maybe my all time favorite is the night he got up and screamed.  "We've got to get the pigs!  They're out of the blankets!"

His snoring isn't bad, only when he lays on his back. I push him, he rolls over and stops. I hate it when he literally rolls on top of me, so I have not much room to move.

Mine only snores for the most part, but I have gotten to the point where I can tune it out at night, if it's too loud a good nudge or "honey, roll over" usually does it..

My FI has a really bad habit of sleep walking.  He will wake up in the middle of the night and say he's going to the bathroom but go into the closet and stand there.  He also will have full on conversations with me in the middle of the night but won't remember talking to me the next morning.  I find it quite funny, i just hope he never hurts himself walking around some night!

I'm like everyone else, he snores, but only when very tired and he quits when I poke him.

Evidently he used to sleepwalk. One time in HS his mom came home early in the morning to find him asleep in his boxers curled around the mailbox post! Hopefully no neighbors saw that one. ^_^

And just random funniness, one of my uncles peed in the fridge while sleepwalking as a child. ^_^

My husband snores a bit, when he's on his back.  But even on a quiet night, I would NOT be able to get to sleep without our white-noise machine.  It's like I'm too self-conscious to fall asleep if there isn't constant background noise.

He snores kinda bad and when sometimes he dances in his sleep (so cute!) mostly he sings Fergie songs , I'm not sure why. I poke at him or just hide under a pillow usually But I hog the bed and talk so we're kinda even. I handed him my keys once and asked him to get me cinnamon twists from Taco Bell. I have been known to sleepwalk  , I walked about 1/2 a mile once at a camp I worked at.

When my husband snores, I'm the mean wife: I pinch his nose shut until he either stops or wakes up enough that he stops! But it works- usually he wakes up a little, grunts, and goes back to sleep.

He also grinds his teeth when he's under stress. If I hear it, I wake him up just because I'm concerned about his health.

@ liz.smith---Ooooh, I have a sleepwalker.  Before we lived together, he went for a nightly stroll and went to sleep on the floor in the kitchen.  ATry explaining that one to your roommate!  Luckily we had an alarm system, so we ALL would have known if he had actually left the house.

You left out sleep apnea!  My FI is horrible to sleep with!  He has apnea, which is weird because he is fairly thin.  He doesn't stop breathing all of the time, sometimes he just snores normally.  On bad nights though he falls asleep, starts snoring, wakes up (kinda), rolls over, and then restarts the cycle.  Each bout of "sleeping" usually lasts about 30 seconds to 1 minute.  If this goes on for longer than 5 or 10 minutes I wake him up and tell him to put his breathing machine on. He isn't comfortable in the machine though so he will usually wake up a couple hours later and remove the mask.  Grrr!

He also grinds his teeth and has elbowed me in the eye, slapped me in the face a few times, kneed me in the stomach.. etc. And then he yells at me for hogging the bed and stealing the covers!

On top of that we have two dogs in a wire crate at the end of the bed. Everytime they move it makes a ton of sound.  I am a super super light sleeper so we keep a fan on in the bedroom to cut the noise and I have a stash of ear plugs.  Generally though, I don't get a lot of sleep.
