Great idea! I'd start crying watching you dance with FI with pictures of you and your dad playing to "I loved her first". AMAZING song.
I'd bawl like a baby if I attended your wedding. It's a great idea if you ask me, go for it. :)
I agree it's a lovely way to remember your father and I would be rying my eyes out. My father passed away as well and we're having a slideshow that will play throughout the night in one part of the room so that everyone can see it!
I'm almost crying now! I think it sounds like a very sweet and personal thing to do. Go for it.
I'm actually tearing up reading your email. I think it's an amazing idea and you should absolutely do it.
I'm generally not a fan of photo slideshows in general, but I voted "yes". Your idea is so sweet and sentimental. If I were a guest at your wedding, I'd find it really touching.
Wonderful idea! I think it will be a great, heartfelt touch.
Agree! I think it's a great idea and there won't be a dry eye in the house!
I think its totally fine. We are also doing a slideshow with a combo of pics from when we were young, our children, and then also to remember our parents...my dad was a huge part in my life and he passed away in 07, fiance bio father passed away when he was 16 y/o so we are doing a slideshow for that reason as well
I have one word...Genius. It's a beautiful and touching idea. Well done, you thoughtful bride! It's so easy to get caught up in the "it's all about us" mentality that it's really wonderful to run across a post that reminds us that it's not just about the bride and groom; a wedding is truly a celebration of all the people that got them to that day! Bravo.
@Mrs. To Be:I absolutely love this idea. I lost my father 2 months ago and would love to do something like this. Great idea. You made me cry.

My father passed away a year and a half ago and with him not being at the wedding I still want to acknowledge him so during the father daughter dance my idea is to dance with my FI to the song I picked out (Heartlands, I loved her first) and play a slideshow in the background on a screen with photos of my dad and I as I was growing up along with some of my FI and I. We do not have any photos of my father and my FI except for one so I want to put that in there too because my father thought very highly of my FI and they got along great!
Is this tacky or too much for the reception???
