@aaiimmee: You need an LCD projector, a screen or blank wall, something to place the laptop and projector on that is the right height and distance away from the wall/screen, and speakers of some kind (laptop speakers will not work, they will be nowhere near loud enough).
You could also talk to your band or DJ and see if they will let you use their sound system or if they have projection equipment.

Ok, so a friend of mine is making the slideshow for our reception. She will have it on her laptop. Is there a specific kind of projector to rent to hook it up to so that it is projected on a big screen? I am clueless, and realize how dumb this question sounds. I just really need to know so I can make sure I have all the necessary equipment. Anyone know about this?
