    Help Bees!

Our wedding is 3/12/11 and I'm starting to feel major panic.

Here is what I have done:

booked reception and ceremony sites and pastor

    bought dress

    booked videog and photog

    booked decor, lighting

received STDs but not sent out - I know, this one is freaking me out

picked florist - waiting on contract to book

picked person to do invites- waiting on contract

Please tell me how your planning is going!  I keep thinking - some people plan whole weddings in 5 months, it will be fine! but then I feel my heart pounding and I want to curl into a little ball thinking about all the rest to be done.   help!!

I've been panicking a lot lately too.  I had to replan my wedding in August because of budget issues and now it's March 6, which is six weeks later than original but we had a lot planned for the original.  Our wedding is small but it still seems like so much to do.  I go Saturday to do the cake tasting and consultation for the look of the cake.  I also need to order invitations soon, get brooches (in place of flowers since I'm having a brooch bouquet), sent up the rental for the ceremony chairs, set up my fitting for my dress and get it bustled, etc.  It seems like so much to do and I know it's possible but right now it just seems like so much.  I'm glad though that so far I have ceremony and reception site, officiant, photographer, the rental house we're staying in and getting ready in, my bouquet, my dress, and almost all of my accessories.

    Date twin!  High five!

Sounds like you've got a good start on everything. Though, yes, I'd advise getting on those STD's soon! :)

Done: ceremony/reception site, officiant, hotel block, caterer, dress (though alterations need to be done, still), photographer, DJ, STD's, decor purchased (though this is an ongoing process), florist (though it's a friendor, and I'm leaving the majority of the design in his hands)

To do: wedding bands, pick baker (going for our first tasting this Saturday), order invitations (design is picked, wording TBD), pick BM dresses, figure out hair/makeup plans, programs, dress alterations, pick veil, event insurance

We're almost at the 4 month mark, now, but this 5 month mark thread was helpful to compare notes on what others in our shoes are doing. http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/march-2011-five-months-left

@Miss Biscuit - Yay Date twin!!  Thanks so much for the thread link, reading that was actually really helpful because I totally felt that way at 5.5 months and it kicked my butt in gear!  We originally weren't going to do STDs but changed our minds last  minute and had a snafu with the design.  SO there were delays but they are getting out asap!  We are really sending them to friends and relatives who have to travel but it almost seems funny now since invites go out in about a month anyway!

@mandb122 - it sounds like you are in very good shape!  It's totally hard not to panic though when you look at the list.  In fact, I'm looking at mine right now and my heart is definitely beating a little faster!

    Thanks Bees!

I'm 23 months away from getting married, and my extreme A type personality has me freaking out already! But I'm sure you'll be fine! :D

Date Triplet!  We actually just settled on the date last week, because we were waiting for the army to tell FH when he would be finished with training.

@tinybride_tallgroom:  You are doing good!  Just get the STD's sent out, and you'll feel much better.  Promise!

Thanks @arclee and Mary Poppins!  I appreciate the support - and look forward to the panicky feeling to recede at least a little :)

YAY to date Triplets!  Did you guys know that our date is the last Saturday before Daylight Savings Time?  I specifically picked that date because I want to have a candelight ceremony.  Did you know when you picked 3/12/11?

We didn't realize the daylight savings time thing until wheels were already in motion for that date.  Technically we hadn't booked anyone yet (just verbal commitments) so we could've switched.  It would've been better for light/pictures if we'd pushed it out further, but that Saturday is the last Saturday of the off-season for our photographer, whose prices would've gone up $400 if we'd waited.  No thanks, I'll take an earlier sunrise over a bigger budget. :)

I suggest you register. It's free and it gives you a checklist of what you need to do each month. It's helped me keep my sanity and I cannot recommend it enough.

Yay! I've found people with the same date as me! I looked up daylight savings AFTER I booked my venue and couldn't believe that it was the day after!! Ugh! We've booked a gorgeous outdoor deck at a resort but it looks like we'll now have to use a boring room inside with ugly carpet Undecided  But it's alright because the reception will be gorgeous Laughing

I have my venue which includes: ceremony, reception, alcohol, food, and cake.  We're doing a cake tasting next Friday and I have a picture of how I want the cake to look.  I have my florist booked with everything pretty much picked out except for the head table as well as ceremony decorations.  I bought my dress 2 months ago (ya...6 months out...a little procrastination), my uncle is the pastor, I've booked the DJ, and also uplighting.  I have the invitations picked out but I haven't ordered them yet because we have to figure out how many to order. Hopefully I'm on track.

Looks like there are a lot of 3/12/11 brides!  That is exciting!  We are having a destination wedding in Florida, so we have already sent out our invitations.  Everyone has to travel, so we wanted to give everyone plenty of time to make plans!  Plus the date is the start of spring break week here, so travel prices just keep going up! We didn't want our invitations (red envelopes) to get mixed up with Christmas cards, so we figured why not send them out super early!  RSVPs are coming back which is SO exciting!!

So far we have booked: Photographer, DJ, Flowers, reception site, ceremony site, ceremony cellist, aunt is marrying us, rehearsal dinner location, all menus (tastings done), weekend activities, dress & veil, cake (tasting and design), linens and lighting, guest transportation, hotel blocks, hair and makeup, spa appointments, tents and chairs, heaters in case it is cold, wedding bands, all paper products have been printed (invitations, cocktail napkins, menus, table numbers, placecards, thank yous, welcome bag tags, etc) children's gift bags are done, flip flop basket, attendants gifts, attendants suits and ties, favor pashminas for all the ladies are purchased, and last but not least the OOT welcome bags are being printed.

I know I am missing something, but hopefully nothing huge!!

Hello fellow date twins! I am new here and very happy I found this thread, the last week I have been feeling very overwhelmed.

Things I have done--venue booked, dress ordered, tux ordered, flowers ordered, cake ordered, caterer contracted (still need to pick food), dj under contract, STDs sent, invites ordered, honeymoon booked, so most of the biggies are done. The little things that are overwhelming me are finding flat shoes (FI is 1" or so taller than me), buying rings, picking transportation, OOT bag assembling, attendant gifts, scheduling the rehersal dinner,  picking a hair style, losing more weight, favors (I know in my head its not a big deal but that isn't translating to less anxiety). So I have a big list left!!!

I am glad I am not the only one concerned about the time change! Our outdoor wedding starts at 6PM, but even if it is dark it is still beautiful out there (hopefully not too cold!) and that means lots of candles, so at least it will be romantic right?
