No, I found Slimfast food to not taste good, and I don’t like eating that much processed food. I found a healthy, balanced diet of mostly vegetables and lean meats and a solid exercise plan works well. When I was trying to lose weight, I counted calories and exercised a lot more than usual, and it worked great.

Their “food” is processed crap, and I love how their plan accounts for NO ONE in that calorie requirements vary between each and every one of us, yet here is a blanket plan that should fit everyone.

So question, why bother with their products? Why not just go on a low cal diet without having to buy slim fast junk? That is essentially what this is – a (very) low calorie diet for small and/or sedentary people.

And if “two meals a day = 1 shake or protein bar” means that a slim fast shake or protein bar is intended to be considered a meal…well, barf. That seems torturous.

I’ve banned any unsustainable diet from my life. I have lost weight so many times, just to gain it back because I can’t eat like that long term, and I’m over it. I have been doing my fitness pal with a reasonable calorie goal for slow weight loss and so far so good. It encourages me to excercise so I can eat a tad more and eat healthier foods because a big salad with lean proteins and veggies keeps me full longer than a little hamburger-but if I want the hamburger I go for it and make up for it. It took a whe but I’m actually starting to crave healthier foods.

You could lose six pounds in 14 days by just cutting out carbs and not having to buy any special branded products.

The problem with diets like that is that is severe calorie restriction so of course you’ll lose weight- mostly water weight, and it will jump right back up when you start eating normally again. Just try and eat clean foods; lots of fruits and veggies, healthy fats like avocados and almonds, and lots of lean protein. Also, with 30 minutes of exercise a day that meal plan is not enough to fuel your muscles and help the rebuild.

My “no” was referring to the fact that I didn’t try it. I had one shake and wanted to vomit, and the bars were dry. So for about 6 hours, I guess you could say I tried? I’d much rather cook up a big old plate of chicken and veggies and enjoy it, than drink a chemical-filled shake.

There isn’t anything to try. It’s a low calorie diet with a marketing spin. There is nothing special or proprietary about their products that will help you lose weight or feel full any more than whatever food tickles your fancy.

I actually gained like 10 lbs drinking slim fast. It added so many calories to my diet, because I don’t normally eat breakfast. I think it’s supposed to be a meal replacement for people who are eating eggs, bacons, the works for breakfast and really heavy lunches.

I started drinking it so I wouldn’t have to swallow vitamins.

I did. Years ago. It was convenient, but whatever you lose will just come right back. To echo PP, stop eating carbs for a couple weeks and it’ll do the same thing. Healthy fats, proteins, fresh veg and some fruit. No grains, starches, or other processed food and you’ll be fine.

I did it in college because it was really convenient. I did lose weight, however, I gained it right back after I started eating normal food again and it wasn’t a lifestyle I could maintain.

I lost about 7-8 pounds with it in college after 2 weeks. I still usually drink a slim fast shake for breakfast because it had a good amount of protein and I don’t have time to make a real breakfast.
