@Kat:  Look into made to measure shirts – but with something that unique, you might have to go bespoke to get what you want.  I think your best solution is to find the closest thing you can off the rack, and then have it altered.  I don’t think you’ll find that anywhere.

BUT I would try Brown’s Menswear in toronto (google them – they do online sales) as they specialise in small and short men’s clothing.

Whatever you end up with, to get the well tailored look you’re going for, you will need to have the shirts altered.

My FI is tall, slender, and impossible to buy a fitted shirt off the rack for. He either buys as close as possible and tailors or orders them to measure. He uses moderntailor.com and has purchased shirts for under $100 from them. That fit! He actually wore one of them to a wedding we attended last weekend.

EDIT: Just messaged FI and he suggested Charles Tyrwhitt:

and Brooks Brothers’ extra slim fit line:

And, if money is no object, this would probably fit the bill:

@Kat:  Mens white shirts look just fine with ivory wedding dresses. Contrary to what Mens Wearhouse salespeople will tell you, it does not make your dress look dingy.

@Kat: I really don’t get the paranoia of putting ivory next to white.  When they’re on two different people, if it’s close, it’s hardly noticeable.  If it’s far, it’s clearly two distinct colours.  I think there is maybe one range of ivories/creams/beiges/off-whites that looks a bit dingy next to someone else in white.  I really don’t get the hoopla over it.  And, looking at your dress, I think it will be just fine.  Remember, not that mmuch shirt is going to show – only the sleeves!

@Kat:

Try Brooks Brothers.  The Slim Fit is not too slim, so you may need to go with the Extra Slim Fit.  They have everything in neck-and-sleeve sizes instead of S/M/L, so you can get an exact fit.

Also – the men can definitely wear white if you are in ivory.  It’s officilly “correct” for men to wear white shirts no matter what color you are wearing.  (Even if the chain store explosion of the last 30 years has erased the old official menswear rules.)

@chippybee:  Custom shirts are normally cheaper than Boss.

@Duncan:  I don’t know a place where you can get a custom tux shirt for less than $125, but if you’ve found one, that’s great and do they ship!
