So I’m starting to put together my look for the big day and I’ve already hit a wall….and that’s with just a veil and slip! So I need some help!
First things first, I bought my dress from David’s..went in to browse and came out with a dress! Am so beyond excited (still!) because it was on clearance and it was actually nothing I expected to like. I had gone back and forth with the idea of a fitted or ball gown. Well I ended up with a “fit and flare”! So when I bought the dress I opted to not purchase the slip or bra at the same time. I am going to be getting the full bra/corset thing? (not even sure what its actually called at this point). But my issue comes in with the slip..I wanted a slip that has kind of an elastic or spandex-ish waist to help smooth over my hip area since the bra goes down past my waist and such. Well the slip I tried on at davids felt like a bad windbreaker jacket and it was very loose fitting, I browsed the web for another slip when I came home. I found a few “mermaid” or “trumpet” slips, but here is the million dollar question! Will a “mermaid”/”trumpet” slip fit the same as a “fit and flare” David’s slip? I want the bottom of my dress to be full and what not but I don’t want to feel like I’m wearing a windbreaker for a slip! Is a “mermaid” or “trumpet” along the lines of a “fit and flare”? I just don’t want to spend the money on a slip, considering some are upwards of $70 dollars a piece, and it not work with my dress.
The next question for you ladies! Some of you have a great eye for fashion, me on the other hand not so much. With my dress I ofcourse want to wear a veil, so what veil do I pick?! There are so many legnths, styles, cuts, lace/no lace….it’s such a big decision! I’m not sure if it matters but I will be wearing my hair in an updo…
Any suggestions would be a great help!
Oh and here is my dress! .. you might not be able to see it, but the dress has an entire lace overlay from under the bust line.
