Have you tried a place like the essex? and you have the house of 18something in waitsfield area. You have the round barn also waitsfield. Bolton Valley has the ponds run by the essex (beautiful up there) you could do a petite wedding at Stowe Mountain Resort. You could do burlingtons boat weddings on lake champlain. There are plenty of hotel weddings there too. Oh and there is the Monitor barn, also very pretty with ceremony and reception in the same place and doesnt cost a ton.

What about having the wedding at battery park and doing the reception at the eco science center?

This just came to mind, in battery park which is water front there is several restuarants near/on the water. I know there is a place on the water (the name excludes me right now) but check that out they have a wrap around deck and they are basically on the end of the pier.

I would contact particular restaurants, for your size of wedding and budget, I think that might be the best option!!

@cranraspberry:  What kind of vibe are you going for?

I really like Farmhouse Tap and Grill… but I’m not sure if they have a room you could “rent” or how much they’d be, but it’s worth looking into. It’s sort of high-class rustic feeling with farm-to-table menus with local ingredients.

I’m having my wedding in July at the inn at Shelburne Farms. Pretty excited, yet a little curious about the same questions as you. Id love to hear from other [email protected] SF brides.

One piece of advice… Make sure to ask about inn vacancy for your date. By the time I put my deposit down, most of the inns rooms were full.

@cranraspberry:

We are having the ceremony somewhere in the gardens or out by the lake (like you’ll see in the photos below.) There are actually two rain “plans”: if it is a nice, calm summer shower, we’ll have the ceremony on the covered porch. If it is an angry Vermont summer storm, we’ll have the ceremony in the game room (it has a books, mahogany, leather feel to it). What I’m looking forward to the most is post-ceremony we are going to have cocktails and  lawn games (croquet, bocce, etc) by the porch.

There is a nominal chair “set-up” fee. Like $30 I think? Well worth it in my opinion…

Here’s a link to another SF Inn wedding last year. It looks like they got ready at the Marriott in Burlington. http://johnrandersenphoto.com/blog/chris-and-ana-shelburne-farms/

Now if only I had a post-dinner “after party” plan and a photographer….yikes!
