A C cup is less endowed? Hahah, I'm an A cup and I'm wearing a strapless gown. It has a belly band that holds it up, plus it is a little tighter under the arms and my alterations lady is sewing in cups so I don't have to wear a bra.

Hmmm I agree that c cup is not less endowed. Maybe it is so tight it's making you flat? My seamstress suggested that I buy a bra that has ultimate push up. I have the perfect one in mind. You can have it sewn into your dress too.

I'm in between an A cup and a B cup and I was afraid that the dress wouldn't fit since I bought a strapless.  But when it's altered, everything will fit and won't fall off.  They put in boning so that when I went to bend over nothing would show.  All you have to do is make sure you have a good seamstress and you'll be fine :)

I agree, with some alterations you will be OK, sometimes the large cups have a lot more problems with strapless because the need to support so much more :)

I'm sure you'll be okay, as a C cup is not really considered small. :p Have you tried the dress on to see how it looks on you?

Ideally your gown will have some boning to hold it up.  If not, you might wan to get a corset to wear underneath.  In any case, during one of your later fittings, make sure to lean over in front of the mirror to make sure that no one can see down your dress.  After all, you don't want to be flashing Uncle Arthur in the middle of your wedding!

I agree a C is not small.  I'm between an A and B and I'm wearing a strapless.  The top has boning in it so I look like I have something.

I'm a 38D and strapless gowns look TERRIBLE on me! I need more support and they make my boobs look like they are spilling out over the sides. Or like a giant boob shelf. Not flattering at all. I wish I was LESS endowed for the purposes of dress shopping. I love strapless dresses but am having to go with a halter or something off the shoulder. I envy those women who look incredible in strapless dresses.

LOL, ok a C cup IS small to ME. But only b/c I am a full DD. The only strapless I liked was a Maggie stress. My friend wore a Maggie too and she has small A's and it gave her some mean curves. She was supported and it just looked killer on her body. Either way, your dress should fit best around your hips, where the weight of the dress will be supported, then zip snuggly up your back. PLUS, a Jim Hjelm gown will have an incredible amount of built-in support. Sorta the benefit of a couture gown so you should be a-ok. My friends all wore those jelly stick on boobs, too, to keep themselves proportioned and fill out their gowns and give them some lift

I am a C cup and I've never considered myself small-boobed--glad I'm not the only one who thought so!

@ejs- lol. those jelly stick-on boobs always scared the crap out of me. i'm a c/d, and in highschool i tried on one of those to possibly use for prom. it was like BOOB ATTACK, and it made them point towards the floor. lol. faaaiiiil.

there was also a girl that wore them, like, to a baseball game. at one point, she stood up, and you could clearly see the bra fall off and down onto the bleachers. she was a jerk, so i didn't feel bad laughing. :p

I've always felt small-boobied and wore a 34A...then, since I was having a terrible time finding a strapless bra that looked good and was comfy, I got measured.  Turns out I'm a 34C!  Mind.  Blown.  So now, although I feel fan-freaking-tastic, I'm also shocked at how small my C cup appears to me.

FWIW, the bra I ended up with is a Le Mystere and it makes the girls look pretty killer, if I do say so myself.  I was torn between that and a Calvin Klein Perfect Fit.  The CK was prettier but I think the Le Mystere gave a slightly nicer lift.

    Good luck!

The Le Mystere strapless bras are pretty amazing. They are kind of expensive (I paid about $76 for mine) but they fit well and give great lift with a little bit of enhancement.

Do you feel misproportioned in your regular life? If you don't, then I would not worry about it for your wedding dress, which is going to fit like a glove! If you do feel a little misproportioned, try some strapless bras with your regular clothes to find a fit and look that you like.

Don't worry about having to hold up or fill out the dress---your torso will hold up the dress (and they have tons of support and boning), and the tailor will alter it to fit whatever proportion you have up top :). Beautiful dress, btw.

First, I don't agree with people's comments judging whether or not a C cup is small. The cup size means nothing except when in comparison to the band size. There is no specific size that "C" would claim. In fact, the bras I'm wearing right now are technically D cups, but I am definitely NOT what most people would consider a D - I wore a bigger band with B cups all along up until recently, and I would not consider myself well endowed at all.

Anyway, I would suggest wearing a push-up and lightly padded bra. The dress will look lovely, I'm sure.

Just make sure if you wear cups ilo of a bra, you have your seamstress sew them into the dress.

A friend of mine didn't do this, and during their introduction, when she came in with her hands above her head doing a full on shimmy, one of her cups was making a break for it somewhere near her armpit.

    Just sayin'. :)

And oh lord, what I'd give to be a C!!!

I think you will be more than fine! I tried on a similar JH with the same kind of sweetheart neckline. The lady at the bridal shop put in some temp fake pads and pushed up & pulled the gown taut like it will be when it's correctly altered to my size and IT looks great. The sweetheart neckline I think is great for the less endowed. :)

I've noticed that the sweetheart neckline is great for pretty much everyone. Every formal dress I've ever had with that cut made me look bigger and better up top. And I'm a 34A...what i wouldn't give for C's. I think if you follow other suggestions here and have the correct undergarments/cups sewn in, you'll be fine. If the gown fits correctly, you should not look mis proportioned.

I'm a 32C too and understand what you mean. A good strapless bra, perhaps padded should do the trick. The other option is to sew pads into the dress, which is what my tailor did for me. It's easier than a bra and just fills the line out a bit more. (btw, I think 32C is a sexy size ;-))

If it is strapless, it should have boning it it to hold it up, and as long as it's fitted right, it should be fine.  As far as the "less endowed" C cup, I have to agree that a C really isn't small.  Especially not from someone who wears a 34AA and I still don't really fill it out.  I have a strapless dress, and there is boning, plus I have a corset to tighten it a bit.  I think it will hold up okay.

Im a B cup and I wore strapless and I was perfectly fine, once the dress is altered to your body there should be no reason those puppys would get out. I didnt really need any help either and felt super comfortable all day without anything, and Im glad I didnt put anything in there because I was sweating all day (it was so hot!)

C cup- I'm so jealous. I'm a full DD and I'm just thinking how much easier it would be to find tops that fit correctly if I was a C.
