My wife and I are thinking about starting a business in our area. It’s more of a lifestyle blog for a very specific niche in our community. We would obviously monetize it, which is why we would fill out the paper work to make it a legal business.
My question is (which if we do decide to go through with it we will consult an attorney) if in order to write about our topic we need a yearly membership to gain access to said community, is it something we could write off on taxes? What other things are eligible for write offs?
