i don't know where you can go to get them made, but i used to have a little machine to DIY, my boyfriend at the time bought it for me on eBay.
actually what i've been findng on etsy are 1inch custom button pin makers, but no one seems to be making the 7/8 inch ones... anyone have any idea for the less than 1 inch button pins?

I've been scouring the net trying to find a distributor who can make a customized small button pin, roughly 2cm in diameter? Does anyone know of where i can go to make these?
