I don’t have any experience with this type of thing, but since the wedding will be so small, and in the “off” season, I imagine it is do-able! Engagement timeframes have gotten so long in recent years; just remember that our parents’ generation had much shorter engagements, typically! You can do it.

Just get your venue pinned down now; since you’re having it at a restaurant, I imagine they shouldn’t be booked up yet. Officiants, too, probably should be available, since the wedding is in Feb.

Any other bees with short engagements care to chime in?

Absolutely. My sister did it in two and a half months. Nail down a venue ASAP so you can get invitations out and then just figure out what is most important to you both and make sure to take care of those elements first.

You can do it!

I’m in the same boat, engagement in August, wedding this December.

We’re having about 40 guests and have almost everything planned. We’rNottingham even stressed, and haven’t felt rushed at all. In fact we’ve quite enjoyed the whole experience, it hasn’t been dragging on and we are still on the “engagement high”.

Go for it!

I agree with PPs, go for it! One of my BMs planned a 300-person, very upscale wedding in 4 months and the day went flawlessly without a hitch. So you can definitely pull off an intimate, casual wedding in 4 months! Photographers, venues, and officiants book the furthest in advance so you should focus on those first. if you choose to have flowers and a cake, you shouldn’t worry about those vendors because they usually do multiple weddings every weekend and can take on a new customer. Or you can alwaysss get those from a grocery store, like Whole Foods, or from Costco or Sam’s Club.

Since you’re planning your wedding at a restaurant, if you are worried about stress, or if you’re going to be very busy, I would recommend looking for a restaurant with some kind of events coordinator. We’re having a 40-person rehearsal dinner at a restaurant and we planned it with the restaurant’s events coordinator. She is amazing and made it really easy – she’s even decorating for us (I’m dropping off votive candles and some pictures in frames the weekend before).
