I had my anatomy scan and everything looked to be progressing perfectly. The only thing that the doctor was unsure of is that there is a small cyst on the baby’s right kidney. She said that it is not interfering with the functioning of the kidneys and everything seems to be running smoothly right now. But she needs me to get another ultrasound at the hospital in the next two weeks – one that will show the kidney more clearly to see what is going on. She said the cyst could stay the same size forever and never be a problem. Or it could grow in which case it could potentially be a problem – she didnt really elaborate on that other than to say I could be induced early (I assume to deal with any kidney problems outside the womb).
Has anyone ever experienced this with their babies? Or have any kind of information regarding this topic? Any information is very much appreciated. I am trying not to worry but of course I am.
