@KatNYC2011: How frustrating. I hated going in for interviews and never hearing a word back. I would appreciate a phone call even if I am being told I'm not the right person for the job. I can understand how that makes things awkward, but it just seems professional to me. I actually wouldn't mind if someone did it via e-mail.
I hope someone calls you back shortly. Possibility after the holidays, but hopefully sooner. I know how discouraging it must feel. Do you feel comfortable enough to give a call to see what the deal is?
@MissPumpkinPie: I will call the recruiter on Monday and see what's going on.
More annoyed that I put pressure on the other positions thinking I might have to make a quick decision and then after doing my part, not hearing back in the time frame that was laid out.
It's so frustrating! Try not to take it personally--it's great that they are showing interest. Best of luck with everything.
Hey me too! I've just moved here in October as well and only been asked to acually interview once! But I have been warned that this time of year is the worst time to be looking. THings should pick up after the holidays.
Well, I got my answer. They passed on me. Apparently no negative feedback, just someone else had more relevant experience.
Can't really be upset with that, if I don't have the experience they want, I don't have it.
Still waiting to hear from 2 companies and hope to start talking to another this week.
This is exhausting.

So I've been looking for a job since moving to the UK in October. Interviews have picked up (which is nice) but the process is SO SLOW (i.e. I've been interviewing with a few companies and my first interview was back in October and now, midway through December, I *still* have yet to have my final interview).
I got a call from a recruiter about a job that wanted to move very quickly (great!). So I had a phone interview Wed, went into the office Thurs, and was told a decision would be made Friday (today) and that I'd need to respond my Monday at the latest with the possibility I'd have to respond by the end of the day today.
So, after the interview (and liking the position) on Thursday, I had to give the heads up to the other places I was talking to since I was still interested in them as well.
Well, today comes and goes with no call from anyone (recruiter promised a call either way) and now I feel like I put pressure on the other positions for no reason and will feel awkward when I go in for my last round interview next week.
Why can't people just follow through with what they say they are going to do!?
Vent over...
