    Hey guys...Im a second timer here out of Charlotte and I am looking for a small wedding venue.  Maybe on the Outer Banks or Ashville?  By small I am meaning just my fiancee and myself. We just want a ceremony for the two of us (maybe 2 friends) sometime either this December or in January over New Years.

    Any thoughts/suggestions???  Im at a loss

    @Aziah:

    I've been to wedding at both locations !

    What's your style? Really question if you like warmer weather or cooler weather.

    I think you can do really great nature activities in both places. Great hikes in the mountains and cool water activities at the beach. Also loved the wedding on the beach because we had a blast during the day doing our own things- Jockey Ridge is super cool. Also- it could be really affordable for all your guest to rent a big beach house together- tons of options for that at the outer banks.

     I also loved the Asheville wedding because we all got log cabins at the ceremony and reception location. It was one big party Thursday- Saturday !

    Good luck - both awesome places.

    @Aziah: My hubby and I debated the outer banks vs Asheville too. :) We chose Asheville and were married at Claxton Farm, but it's a larger venue than what you are looking for.

    When I was researching the outer banks the one place I really liked was the Sanderling Resort. They have elopement packages in addition to hosting larger weddings. http://www.thesanderling.com/events/weddings/elopement/

    In Asheville, you could look into the Asheville arboretum (http://www.ncarboretum.org/plan-a-visit/green-weddings/) or some of the bed and breakfasts ( http://www.ashevillebba.com/ or http://www.bedandbreakfast.com/asheville-north-carolina.html) in Asheville have elopement packages. If you get married in Asheville and are looking for an officiant~I highly recommend Howard Hanger. :) If you do choose Asheville, I can tell you about all of the vendors we used.

    I don't know the area, but you'll probably need two friends as witnesses!
