Ours was a bit larger than that (we invited about 110ish I think) and we really thought that 99% of the people would say yes (and originally they mostly did!) but then by the time the wedding rolled around we had the typical 20% decline rate that most people get, despite not inviting a million people, due to illnesses and problems getting visas (international guests obviously) etc etc. You can never count on people declining, but it’s pretty crazy how it very often seems to even out that way!

We had to invite 71 to keep the family happy, but we have our fingers crossed that, minus the wedding party (8), we’ll get it down to 50 … since that how many seats we have at the ceremony site.

Currently, we’ve had 9 nos so far, so we’re only 3 declines away from being able to seat everybody, and we only have 38% of responses back. Our wedding is a travel wedding for most of our guests, but just from Ohio to Chicago.

So what I’m saying is, we’ve had a lot of declines and we expected almost none, although we definitely needed to nos. This was, I will admit, partially the result of my bridesmaids being amazing and deciding of their own accord to ask their partners to stay home because they knew I was stressed out about seating.

@echolove:  lol. It’s just us, his young kids, our patents and siblings. All together it’s 12(including us and kids)
