Oh, sorry! I got your PM about Schaar's Bluff, but never responded!
Schaar's Bluff is my favorite venue ever. I don't know if we are going to be able to use it because it only holds 75, and that's about the size of my family! But you totally should.

I took of a tour of it with a lady from the Dakota County Parks, and that just made me fall even more in love with it.*sigh* If only I could like, not invite the majority of my family. The surroundings are really beautiful, since it's in the middle of a nature preserve. And the view of the river is awesome.
My favorite part was the two firepits. They even stock them up with wood prior to your event.

Hi Girls! I am in the Rochester area and glad to see fellow Minnesotans posting :) Hollar if you have any questions about Southern MN :)

And as for Stillwater, there are like, 13 million wedding venues. My favorite is the Camrose Hill Flower Farm, and also the roof deck at the Stillwater library. There's also the Washington County historic courthouse, but I have heard they are really strict.
I think the best small wedding venue is St. Paul is Forepaugh's. It's super beautiful and holds up to 80 people.
Hey there, we are getting married in Stillwater this May and booked the William Sauntry bed and breakfast for the evening. There are tons of B and B's...The only hard part for most people is that they are often permited for only 40 people! For us that worked great though!!!

We are hitting 40 exactly! (we have to include ourselves, the officiant and the photographer).
It might be a little far for you, but my family owns a winery in Red Wing. I've been working on a new website design, so it's currently located at www.falconerwinery.com There's a section for weddings under music & events where you can download our wedding brochure. Let me know if the website doesn't work! :) Good luck on your planning.
Thanks for the suggestion. I took a look at your website and it looks beautiful. Do you have indoor space or only outdoor? Also, it looks like you only allow wine and no other alcohol? Is that the case?
@babeeshoop - glad to see another Rochester bee in the hive! :) I think we are the only ones. PM me if you need any Rochester vendor advice, I've already had my wedding so I know a lot of vendors in the area.

Hi all. This is my first post. We are just starting to plan our wedding and plan on keeping it small and intimate (between 40-60 people). I was wondering if anyone had ideas for small wedding venues around the St. Paul and surrounding areas. I am interested in the Cottage Grove, Woodbury, Hastings, Stillwater area or St. Paul itself. I also would appreciate advice about small weddings in general. I don't think we would dance with only that many people? Would we just eat dinner and socialize then? Anyway, any advice would be appreciated so much!! Thanks.
