My fiance’s family is from a different part of the country. My FMIL and my FSIL planned to throw me a shower in their neck of the woods, because no one from their side will be able to make it to the one my MOH is throwing. I assumed the party would be hosted by them because that’s what was discussed, and planned to bring nice thank-you gifts for hosting the party. I just got the invite and it says the party is being hosted by them, as well as three other family members. I definitely want to bring gifts, but don’t want to spend a ton and also don’t want to make a big production out of it. I don’t really know any of them too well. Any ideas for smaller, but still nice gifts? Thanks!

I gave my shower hostesses a $10 soap set from Lush. http://www.lush.com
I signed the card, "From my shower to yours." They loved it.

Wine and a cute bag to carry it in is always a great gift!

That’s very nice of you and I’m sure they’ll appreciate whatever you give them. I doubt they even expect anythign at all! It really doesn’t matter how much $ you spend as long as you put thought into it. A handwritten thank you note goes a long way.
All the previous suggestions are great. I love the umbrella idea, especially if they’re in vibrant and different prints. It’s useful and symbolic. I would also suggest personalized pashminas or maybe cosmetic cases. I’ve found great deals at Macy’s on several small cosmetic cases that were cute, trendy and inexpensive. It’s def a good place to go for ideas, especially with all those sales and coupons!
