Check out not just their wedding dresses, but also their bridesmaid/mob/special occasion dresses. (They have a lot of ivory and white colors.) I just ordered 4 weddding, one MOB, and one special occasion dress all to try on as potential wedding dresses. The cheapest of my picks was $170 and the most expensive was $570, and all were pretty simple! Right now they are doing free shipping, and their return fee is a fat 6 bucks.

I wanted to get a dress from her... Long, long story short- my mother just had to have that traditional-catholic-white-not-off-the-beat look... So I compromised and found a dress my mother wouldn't give me grief about for the rest of my wedding dress picture days...
But geeze- I still long for a wai-ching dress!!!!

Try ebay. They have some stellar "similiar looking designer" gowns. You could pick out a nice simple dress and have it made directly to fit your body proportions so it fits like a rock star 
. If it's a bust, you're only out $150, but the ones I've looked at have 100% positive rating.

I got my Pronovias dress on ebay for $300 ($1200 less than I was going to pay for it at the boutique!) Try the "Make an offer" function!! The dress was marked for $460, I got it for $300, not bad!

Oh, how I adore this dress.
Needless to say, simplicity is one of my "must haves" when it comes to my dress. Does anyone have any other sites or stores that have beautiful dresses on the cheap? I have a budget of about $1000 for the dress, but hey, if I can get the dress for $295 or $79.99, that's more money me and Mr. L can spend on our NYC honeymoon!
