    We smoke on occasion usually with his friends in their places lol. Or the whole time we lived in our apt (almost a year) we smoked inside around 5 x and outside once. He mainly doesn’t like smoking in our home whereas I’m indifferent lol.

    @soontobemrsm11:  I do not smoke. I physically can’t… I’m extremely allergic. BUT.

    Smoking in houses is DISGUSTING. I visited a prospective family to baby sit for last year, and although I was only in their house for aound 10 minutes, when I left, I smelled 100% like smoke and as soon as I walked in the house my then-roommate was appauled at the wretched smell that came with me (and she was FEET away!). I washed my clothes and dry cleaned my pea coat and the smell still didn’t come out. I had to toss them, which really sucked since it was my favorite coat. (Also, I had to use my nebulizer the moment I left their house, I could barely breathe). Needless to say, I never returned to that family.

    Also, If you are an indoor-smoker… once you go to sell your house, it will take FOREVER to sell. Because only smokers will buy it. And not even all smokers… only indoor-smokers (since some are strickly outdoor and don’t want their crap stinking up). So you have a very limited audience to sell to.

    So those are two good reasons not to smoke in a house: Most people will be REALLY put off by it. It will be that much harder to sell in the future.

    EDIT: And it always seems to be that every smoker that I know doesn’t know/is oblivious to the fact that their house/car smells. They are used to it. So I feel like its good for us non-smokers to let you know that… it does whether you realize it or not. lol

    I voted other, because Cigarrettes are ALWAYS outside! I can’t stand the smell of old butts in the housem although FI will smoke his hookah tobacco inside, it doesn’t leave such an unpleasant smell.

    I can’t tell if you’re talking about cigarettes or marijuana because I usually don’t think of cigarette smokers of doing it only ocassionally… so if you’re talking about the green stuff when I partake it is inside! Haven’t smoked in a while though but I prefer it to alcohol and the last time I got drunk was a couple years back…

    @LeonardLady:  I agree! Which is why I don’t smoke inside, although I do smoke in my car. I can tell my car REAKS though! So I have to be very vigilant about cleaning it, since FI doesn’t really like the smell, Febreeze car clips, and LOTS of Ozium! Haha

    DH smokes, and I hate it. If he ever thought about smoking in the house, I would go absolutely postal on him! As it is, I can’t stand that the smell follows him back in the house after he smokes.

    My husband and I don’t smoke, but have friends that do. They ALWAYS smoke outside. I would never let anyone smoke inside my house!

    I’m a non-smoker and hubby is a former smoker – neither of us can stand the old stale smoke smell in people’s homes when they smoke inside.  My inlaws smoke inside and we won’t even go over there much less allow our son to spend the night in that smoke environment.

    My parents used to smoke but they smoked outside. Nothing in the house stunk.

    As a potential homebuyer I also agree with PP – if I walk in and there is the slightest odor of cigarette smoke… I’m out. I don’t care how beautiful the house is I refuse to live with that smell.
