I just started C25K, and on my way back home today, I passed a guy who looked like he had just finished his run too. Still sweating and cooling down, he pulled out a cigarette and lit up.
Having heard plenty about the health dangers of smoking, it seemed pretty ironic. Then again, until Monday, I’ve avoided smoking (and second hand smoke) for health reasons, but haven’t done much else for my health, so I guess it’s not so different.
Just curious, do you smoke and work out?

I don’t smoke, but I am one who will have ice cream (and other fattening foods) and then work out.

Haha, that’s so true! I eat so much junk :/
Oddly enough though, jogging makes me not want to eat junk at all.

I do not smoke and I do work out. But yea, I don’t eat spectacularly healthy…. I try…

Yep, I sure do! I do step-werobics, pilates, kettlebells, bowflex, stability ball, core fusion and resistance band workouts. Of course I do not smoke WHILE I am working out. To people who bug me about doing both, I ask if they would prefer me not to work out just because I smoke! To my doctor’s chargrin, I have the heart and lungs of an athlete, he always looks so disappointed when he tells me that! I am over 50 years old, take no prescription or OTC medications and I have no medical issues except for bad knees, and aome balance issues from a series of ear infections. Heck, I;m healthier than my 20-something lab assistants!

that’s effing stupid and couterproductive. My dad used to laugh at my mom b/c she’d go use the in-home gym in the basement when she got home, but then sit on the computer and smoke the rest of the night. He had a point.

@bluespurrs: That’s a really good point, about why should smoking stop you from working out. I guess I didn’t think of it that way…
It still seems odd to me though. Maybe because I don’t smoke, haha.
