I kept a close eye on our registry so that I would know whether I should add more items. We didn't register for nearly enough gifts at first, so midway through our engagement we had to add more choices for our guests!
It's way too much fun so I can't help but look- and look often! I do hate that when gifts arrive (as they've started to from people who can't come to our first shower) it's a little disappointing that I can guess what's in the box.. but it's SO exciting when I check the registry and see certain items being bought!! I keep saying I'll try not to look before my first shower but it's a week away now and I don't know if I'll really be able to resist!! It's way too addicting!!!
update - I recently peeked and saw that someone bought our KitchenAid stand mixer!!! YYYEESSSSS!!!! I literally called my fiance at work to tell him, haha.
pfft, I look all the time. I dont see why you wouldn't!
sure they're 'gifts' but its not like its your birthday...we told the people what WE want and they're picking them off a list. Its not that big of a suprise.
I can't vote because none of the choices apply to me. During the month leading up to my shower, I checked it once a week or so. The month leading up to our wedding, I'll do the same. Reason: I wanted to make sure that it stays balanced, and that the late gift-givers aren't stuck with either only cheaper stuff or expensive stuff. In fact, it's good etiquette to check it regularly for that reason.
I don't want to ruin the surprise! I know a few people have reserved things off our wishpot registry for my shower, and while I accidentally saw a couple things that I'm getting, I want to be surprised! I understand why brides do it, but it's just not for me.
I've refrained so far, but I heard that we're running out of things and we're still 2 months out, so I think I might have to break down and check it out so I know what's gone and what I should add. I'm afraid after I've peaked once it'll be too hard to stop!

I've got to be honest, and I want to know if other brides to be are doing this too... I LOVE getting gifts, and because of geography I am having 3 different showers (yay awesome mom, fmil, and maids, I am blessed). I snuck one peek before the first shower, and I felt totally wrong for it, but I was glad I saw in advance that most people did not buy off the registry, so I was prepared. Well a few weeks later we found the apartment we were moving to as a married couple, and the kitchen colors majorly clashed with everything I had picked, so I redid all the kitchen items... and after that, checking the registry became a bad habit! I totally know exactly what gifts I am getting at my shower this coming weekend... am I the only gift-obsessed bride to be on here?
