Good morning bees!
I am getting married 3 months from yesterday (yay!) and I have my invitations all set and ready to be mailed. We are having a semi-destination wedding (most people will have to travel, but it is in state), so I wanted to get the invites out sooner rather than later. The city we are getting married in is my college town & they just happen to be having graduation the same day of our wedding, so accomodations are filling up quickly. While I do have several rooms blocked at 3 different hotels for our guests, I want to make sure they have plenty of time to book a room in case we need to add more to the block.
Ok, so here is my question… I was going to send out my invitations today, but we are about to have Snowmaggedon Part 2 here in NC and I don’t want to chance my invitations getting lost at the Post Office or ruined by the storm. Am I just over-thinking things here? Should I go ahead and drop them off at the Post Office or should I wait until next week?

@SeasideBride510: If you drop them off at the actual Post Office they should be fine. I wouldn’t toss them in an outdoor drop box though. I might hold the local ones that are going to go out on the small mail trucks in the next few days.

@beachbride1216: +1 this sounds like a good idea.
My wedding is graduation weekend too in a college town. Our hotel block is down to 5 rooms left and then the hotel is sold out! This is before even sending out invites but I did spread the word about it when I sent out Save the Dates. Our location isn’t really close to campus but it’s nice and I think it’s more affordable for that reason so they booked up fast.

@beachbride1216: Thanks! I was planning on dropping them at the Post Office after work today (which my be earlier than planned- it’s snowing a lot, but not sticking yet).
@Ms_Purple: Our venue isn’t near the college either, but I started getting a little anxious when my Fiance and I went to book our wedding night room and there were not many options left! We decided not to stay at the same hotel as our guests though, and when I checked those hotels they were not close to selling out yet. So far, so good! All of our guests were aware of the fact that it is graduation weekend and Mother’s Day when we sent our Save the Dates, so hopefully they’ve planned accordingly!
