Weddingbee boards

Well, my DH and I have the week off of work and we were really looking forward to it. We had some plans today but with this blizzard we had has wreaked havock on said plans. The trains in our part of Brooklyn aren't running and I'm sure the buses are no better.The past 3 days we've spent at home with his mom and sister. His sister went home before it got bad yesterday, but she'll be back again tomorrow and won't leave again until Thursday. She was supposed to go to New Jersey with her bf but those plans were cancelled because of the snow. She doesn't have work so she'll pretty much just be at the apartment the entire time.

I was really looking forward to spending time with DH, not his family. It's really irritating. If I knew this was going to happen, I maybe just would have gone home to visit my family. I like his family, but being stuck in the house with them is not my idea of a vacation (or staycation). A couple of days I could have managed (and even found it enjoyable) but this is just too much. Of our 9 days off, we only get 4 of just us. But now we're stuck here today and his mom is also here and won't be able to leave either, so that knocks it down to 3 which isn't much different than just a weekend. Sigh :( I know it could be worse, but it's still a big disappointment. We really needed this time together after a super stressful last few months, and now we don't get it. We probably won't get to spend a lot of time together until after June now. :'(

we have no basement. We have a tiny NYC apartment :( She's the type of person that would be offended by that anyway. His family can be really sensitive about things even if it seems totally harmless. I don't know if it's a cultural thing or what. Like one time we asked his sister if we can move her desk out of our room (she never uses it seeing that it's not her room) and she totally BLEW UP. So silly. And his mom has had temper tantrums quite a few times too.

I want to go play in the snow, but my winter coat broke last thursday so I had to mail it in (warranty) and I'm not sure my other coats will hold up with the wind. And I'm fighting a cold. Worst. break. ever. bleh.

sigh. Still no trains running over here. Lots of cars and trucks stuck on unplowed side streets. The city really messed up with this one. But, that also means my sister in law won't be able to make it here. I hope that doesn't mean she shifts her days to be here to new years. new years is "our holiday". It's the one holiday that DH and I were ALWAYS able to spend together, even when we were long distance. it's nice to spend it just him and I. stupid weather.
