I have NEVER seen anything like this in terms of snow... and I've lived in PA for more than 15 years! We got 20+ inches here, which is nothing compared to you bees in MD (I'm hearing 30+ near DC?) We are in a state of emergency here in SWestern PA.
(My deck had no snow on it yesterday)

Wowzers!!! That's a lot of snow! NYC was supposed to get hit as well...I wake up and look outside, and there's NOTHING on the ground. What a tease!
geesh!! i do not envy you at all. it's no secret how much i hate snow. here in wi we get tons of it so i'm praying that storm is not headed this way.
@Hilsy: I was hoping it'd be a tease here too... but nope. lol
@msmonicka: I think it's headed East, last I heard? I HATE the snow too. I'd move to FL if I could!
Holy Moly!!!! thats a lot of snow! I wish we had gotten that much but we only got like 2 inches.

where i go to school about an hour away has something, but no where NEAR that much. mannnn.
We're in NYC for the weekend, and it hasn't hit yet... we're going out! Hope we don't get snowed in, haha...

Holy. Cow. We have um, less than an inch here. Your picture, I swear to you, made me cry. I would literally be in tears if I woke up to that. Oh snow, you cause me so much anxiety.
i seems like the world desided to dump snow everywhere but Vancouver, BC this year... i am just laughing about it as they bring in "snow form russia, and ask all guests travelling in from other mountains to bring snow with them" for the olympicas.
last year our winter was insane we had a massive dumping of snow all winter... this year NOTHING!
im in north jersey and i was bracing for the worst.. not even a snowflake yet! crazy- i have friends just 30min south with a foot and a half and we havent seen a thing. im going to the mall.
its crazy how Phily, south jersey, DC area is getting hit hard this winter and us north jersey/ NYCers not as much!!
I'm in Brooklyn and it looks like we have some, but not too much. We'll see if it ever picks up, but I doubt it. By some, i mean we have a good couple of inches as far as I can tell. Some people may consider it a lot lol.
BBRRR, we definately have about 2 feet plus out there in Chester County!

Haha, we're not quite bringing snow from Russia, but the rumour that it's being moved from one mountain, to another is absolutely true!
Here is the sidewalk at my parent's house in MD! We came back for a weekend full of wedding stuff and got this... :) I think we're sitting around 3 feet now and getting 1 inch/hour.
My FI lives in Haymarket and we are snowed in at his place today - I fear they will never come and dig us out - PW County is not the best about these things. I fear we'll be here for days, yikes! Nothing to do but watch tv and pig out!

This pic was taken at ten and we've had several more inches since then.
We haven't even ATTEMPTED to shovel yet. Still in our jammies! The Mister wants to wait until it stopes snowing altogether to dig out. I don't believe this to be the best strategy, it means twice as much shoveling later on!!
i'm in FL, so no snow, but we did have a tornado watch yesterday! that was kinda scary to actually hear the emergency alert system go off!!
yay for snow!!!! We haven't had much this year, but one year we got so much that it was as tall as all of our fences (4 feet). My dogs loved being able to just walk out of the back yard without having to jump the fence!
I grew up in the Philly area and remember getting 30 inches of snow in the winter of 1996, and roughly the same amount here in Boston in 2005. But I am not a fan of snow, so I'm very glad we didn't get hit this time!
Still waiting for it in NYC... they keep saying it's coming, but I haven't seen a single flake!! SO and I are going to drive out to Queens anyways :-D
Umm, I'm really jealous! I wanted a huge blizzard and we got, like, maybe an inch in Manhattan. Laaaaame.
We hade a HUGE storm a last week... or was it the week before? My car disappeared.

That is MENTAL!! in the UK we grind to a halt if we get any more than 2 or 3 inches! Seriously in awe of your crazy US weather!
we got about 6 inches hear i think we are supposed to get more its worse though in the eastern part of the state.
Wow! I hope you guys don't send it over here! 3 flakes of snow on the ground and the entire of London nearly screeches to a halt.
