I was hurt that our photographer didn’t blog about us or FB us even though she did it for couples after us. It made me feel really insecure about myself and our photos. I think I showed these photos to literally everyone and asked them for their opinions because I wasn’t blogged/FBed.

After speaking with other photographers though, I learned that most photographers do not blog everyone that they work with unless it specifically says it in the contract. They usually only blog shoots/weddings that fit with their vision and brand. They say that the blogs are more for future clients (which is true considering who usually visits these blogs) and less for existing clients, unfortunately. For example, one photographer I know loves to blog weddings with outdoor venues and DIY details as she prefers those types of weddings and would like to showcase her abilities with these types of weddings. I was also told they blog out of order.

My photographer never blogged our wedding, and I am not going to lie it really hurt my feelings. You can see a list of all of their clients on their client access page, and we were the only ones not blogged.

I know our wedding kicked butt and I am sure yours did too, so don’t let it bother you too much.

@SpecialSundae: No, I never bothered asking. I know she was busy and was early in her  pregnancy at the time, so I just let it go.

@SpecialSundae:  I would as long as there is no friendship involved between you and the photographer.

I think it’s really disgusting that photographers choose who to blog about based off of what’s “pretty” or “stylish” enough for their image.

As a photographer, I blog every one of my client’s photo shoots if I have their permission. No, not all my clients are gorgeous size 2 models with perfect hair and teeth, but I’d much rather show real people and my ability to photograph people who may not feel perfect.

I mean this in the nicest way, but why is being blogged so important?  You had the day YOU wanted, who cares what others think, yeah?

I wouldn’t ask why he didn’t blog your wedding but what his policy is about blogging?  And then if he plans to blog you in the near future so he’s put in a less defensive position.  Maybe he prefers to only blog a handful each year and like PP have said he might have a certain vision for his site.  Our photographer blogs just about every wedding she does. I’m actually on the opposite end and considering asking her not to blog us as I’m a rather private person.  She is a friend and we have a very large similar group of friends, many whom we don’t have space to extend an invite. Plus, I agree I don’t want my personal photos public on the internet!!

@KristenGotMarried:  I purposefully chose a photographer who does not blog. I don’t want my face all over the interwebz. 😛

ETA: I should say, I don’t want my wedding all over the interwebz. My face is already on it.

I was a bit unsettled.  All the pictures that my photographer put on her fb were of beautiful brides.  People commented how wonderful they were.  My photographer didn’t really put any of our pics up.  I was like omgoodness, are our pics that bad that she won’t even put them up.  I still don’t know how to take it.
