@missfrillycoat:  …this is what my Grandmother referred to as, “Summer Complaint”  bear in mind she was Southern…and essentially what it consists of, is your body going all out of whack in total rebellion due to the heat, the humidity, strenuous activitiy and stuffing yourself with the extra good…but oh so bad delicacies of summer barbeques….

The best medicine, rest, water and some clean eating…she’d always take things way down a notch around the house for about two or three weeks menu wise, and it would be a lot of fresh fruit, raw veggies, simple grilled meats and water with lemon or cucumber soaking in it…then every night, cool baths, open windows and early bedtimes with your hair wet, so you stay nice and cool….oh, and no liquor, no tv, only soft music and good books, candlelight…no lightbulbs…makes you go to bed earlier.

I honestly don’t know how much of it was actually what we ate or what we did…but it always seemed to work, and Mr. 99 and I get to the point, late July or early August, where our bodies have had enough and we institute what we lovingly call,

“Sug Rules” around the house for a couple of weeks…

works like a charm
