@MeiFrancis:  What pharmacy did you use?  If it was CVS, that doesn’t suprise me- their customer service is terrible.  Try Walgreens.

That is so horrible!  I hope you can get them soon.

I hated the LASIK eye drops, they made my eyes so dry!  But the surgery is awesome!

@MeiFrancis:  I hope you have great results with it!  Just make sure to rest afterward for the rest of the day!

People think it’s simple to fill a prescription.  But maybe something did happen with the electronic submission and the pharmacy didnt get it right away.  Retail pharmacies are ridiculously busy.  Those pharmacist don’t even have timsago eat.  If it was urgent, then tell them it is an urgent medication.  Because if not then they fill prescriptions that were there before yours.  It’s possible this specific CVS fill thousands of prescriptions a day.  Try supermarket pharmacies if you want a less busy store.

I would be super pissed if I were you. They seem incredibly useless, I would not use them again!

Hopefully you don’t have to push your surgery back…let us know how everything goes.

I realize you are frustrated, and I know CVS doesn’t have a great track record in customer service, but try to understand that there are hundreds, maybe thousands of other patients just like you trying to get their meds filled, too. This is a really busy time of year. My pharmacists don’t even get to eat; many of the techs and myself as an intern clock out for break but end up still working the counter.

I work in a pharmacy and there have been times patients have gotten so angry with us because we simply have not recieved the prescription from their doctor. If it’s an e-fax, then people expect it to just show up automatically. It can take up to 2 hours because it has to go through a pharmacy board-approved intermediary to make sure it is secure. We have no control over that.

Sometimes the doctor will call the wrong pharmacy and not own up to it. Sometimes the nurses say they called and never did.

As far as the prior authorization, there’s nothing the pharmacy can do about it other than give the doctor the insurance information. It’s between the insurance and the doctor at that point.

I realize you are frustrated, and you have every right to be. But at the same time I hope you understand that when the person at the counter or on the phone tells you it’s going to be an hour, or two hours, or even half a day to fill your prescription, you don’t think that we just pull that number out of our asses. We don’t WANT you to wait any longer than you have to for your prescription, but we also don’t want to lie to you and not have it done in the magic “15 minutes” that everybody wants to hear when they drop off a prescription. We want to make sure that we get your prescription out to you correctly and not in a rushed fashion.

Sorry if that was long; I’ve had to explain to a lot of customers lately why there are delays so I understand where you are coming from 🙂

@BooRadley:  I actually have never had trouble with CVS! I recently had to transfer my prescription to them because I now have TriCare and TriCare does not use Walgreens, Rite Aid or any other pharmacy. I had to get my prescription filled the other day and they were semi busy. The pharmacist put a rush on my prescription (It was just one) and they got me out of there pretty quick. I was in the store a total of, maybe 15 minutes?
