If you want a 7 piece band try the music department at a local college…you may be able to save enough money to have a band and dj…just a thought…you could always hang a flyer at a local college or put and add on craigslist…

Good Luck!!

I second looking at local universities- especially if any nearby are known for their music departments or having their own recording label (Baylor just added one, sort of for example).

Also, 7500 for a 7 piece seems a lot to me. Our’s is a 19 piece for a little over 2000 for four hours with 2-3 set breaks.

Remember that most bands require set breaks where a DJ would be nessicary (though an Ipod would be acceptable here without loosing anything).

I think that you should just research more bands…just be careful with your search…you want a band that knows how to play at a wedding. make sure that they have at least a little bit of experience playing in a wedding type situation.

I ended up emailing about 10 bands…until one of them gave me a great deal and I loved them and had seen them live…so just keep searching until you come across one you like and the price is right !
