Big bear is all forest. Have you tried asking the park rangers there?

You could probably get some information at the discovery center. If they don’t know they might be able to direct you to someone who could tell you.

It was always my dream as a kid to have a wedding in big bear. Didn’t work out… my wedding was a few miles north in my tiny home town. If big bear works out for you, enjoy a little part of it for me. I miss it a lot!

If you are looking for a forest I would suggest you look up in Big Bear or even Big Sur if you can stretch that far north. A place I looked at just north of Santa Barbara may have what you are looking for. I did a site tour and it was pretty wooded and has a spectacular lake. I live in Santa Monica and will be having my wedding in Santa Barbara Wine Country.
