I would vote yacht B, 20 minutes will be appreciated at hte end of a long night!
I do like the aesthetics of Yacht A better, but Yacht B is beautiful, as well. Is their any major differences in cost? As a guest, though, I'd probably prefer to be closer and not have to ride the shuttle for long, so I think I'd vote for Yacht B. Tough call!
Personally, I like the second one. Especially for landlocked people who might get easily seasick. But I can see why you are conflicted, the glass one is stunning and so modern. I prefer more classic in my taste so it would depend on your personal taste. But with all the plus' for the second one, if it were me, it would be my choice.
Is there anyway to find a hotel closer to Yacht A? I know NYC hotels are expensive, but maybe there is a closer option in Jersey City or something?
Wow, that's such a great idea! I'd go with Yacht B, it's still very pretty and the shorter ride will be much appreciated.
Do both cruises cover the same areas?
One thing if you hadn't thought of this already - might want to have some dramamine or pressure point bands, just in case.
According to the planners I have spoke to from each Yacht company said that the boats are so large you barely get the sea-sick feeling. Howeverrrrrrrrrr...I am putting a little informational flyer inside the invites to tell people details and in there I am going to tell people to bring stuff like that with them if they have ever experienced sea-sickness.
All of my family is from Long Island so even if I got a hotel in the city they would still have to travel really far.
I would have people stay in Hoboken or Jersey City and take one of the ferry boats over. The NY Waterways Shuttle used to have shuttle buses on the Manhattan side that went up and down the West Side. I bet there's one that goes to Chelsea Piers.
@Firefliesflash: Yeah, I've heard that line before only to get really sick. Smart move to include that info for your guests. I'm sure they will enjoy the evening you have planned.

My Fiance is in the Navy and I am from NY and his family is from Minnesota. Most of his family has NEVER been to NY and because of money constraints will not be able to sight see while they are here. So we have decided we might have our wedding on Yacht. The Yacht to us, is perfect because it will cruise around all the major sights in NYC and it will be super fun.
We are between two different Yacht companies but have one big issue. Getting our guests to the Boat! We have already decided to purchase 2-3 Shuttle buses for the night to bring guests from the Hotel to the Pier and then back again.
Yacht A is BEAUTIFUL, everything I have ever wanted. However, they leave out of Chelsea Pier in NY Harbor. Our Hotel will is on Long Island NY and it would take around an Hour for the shuttle bus to take people from the Hotel to our venue.
Yacht B is very nice too, however, just not AS nice as Yacht B. The advantage, however, is that its only 20-30 minutes away.
What does everyone think? What should I do!?!?!
