@FutureMrs.Wood:  Hi! Odds are you ovulated late this month for whatever reason. I had a month like that – no stress, nothing out of the ordinary, and I ovulated 10 days later than usual. Wait it out and test every few days. If you’d like to keep closer track of your cycles (ie. know when you O and when to expect AF), you might consider charting. And, yes, FMU is best to use because it’s the most concentrated (because you haven’t had anything to drink all night) and is mostly likely to show a BFP if your hCG levels aren’t high yet. Good luck!!!

I think you probably ovulated later than normal…  I didn’t use OPKs but I think it’s possible to get the LH surge and then not actually drop an egg.

I would say every few days POAS and eventually you will either get a BFP or AF!  I think if you go 45 or 60 days with no period it’s time to check with your healthcare provider.

@FutureMrs.Wood:  OPKs are great! I love them! BUT, sometimes you body doesn’t actually O after an LH surge, so that doesn’t guarantee you actually O’d around that time. The only way to confirm O is to document a sustained temp shift.  The cycle I O’d late, I actually also got a positive OPK early in my cycle, then failed to O, got another positive OPK 10 days later, and finally O’d and had a temp shift. I’d guess that’s what happened to you. If you go another week or two without AF or a BFP, I’d make an appointment to see your doc. They can do a blood pregnancy test (there are rarely women who never excrete enough hCG in their urine to get a BFP on a urine test) and can do a progesterone test to see if you have ovulated.

I can’t say I know much about Fertilitea, so sorry, no words of wisdom there.

@FutureMrs.Wood:  Girl, I completely understand! TTC is such a stressful and emotional time! I’d suggest you try charting next cycle – it’s simple and so empowering and informative! All you need is a basal thermometer – take your temp at the same time every morning before you eat/drink/get out of bed. If you decide to do it, join the Charters thread – the ladies there are so helpful!

@FutureMrs.Wood:  We were writing at the same time! You can start temping tomorrow, no need to wait – you’ll still get some useful information about this cycle. I often got up to pee a couple hours before I temped and it never messed it up. The most important thing is to do it at the same time. Join FertilityFriend.com – it’s the easiest way to chart. 🙂

@FutureMrs.Wood:  (I know you didn’t ask me, but I got my BFP by charting, so here’s my two cents…)

I would go ahead and do some temping now, just to get into the habit of it.  By the time you get AF you will be able to start fresh with a new cycle and that way if you forget a day or two it doesn’t matter right now… you’ll be in the habit of it before you know it!

I would set my alarm for 5am, take my temp, and go back to sleep.  If I got up to pee at like 3am, I would still take my temp at 5.  I didn’t have any major issues with that but some people might get wonky temps because of that (or because of mouth breathing or any other number of things)

I downloaded the free fertility friend app (I’m too cheap to spring for VIP membership) and I found it to be very helpful.

Good luck, and BABY DUST!!!

@FutureMrs.Wood:  It intimidated me too! But I would have never gotten my BFP without charting! Good luck to you! It’s so much easier than you think it is (than I thought is was) going to be! Feel free to PM me with any questions, and the Charters are a great reference, too. 🙂

@DaneLady: Great advice! I agree!  Also to Mrs Wood – in regards to the VIP membership – I loved it! But don’t pay full price – stalk their facebook page – they’ll have occasional deals to get a year for $25 (definitely worth it!).
